Hello Brides, Has anyone booked Ivan Luckie for photography and also booked the videographer (Alex Gallardo/G&A Wedding Cinema)? I am debating on whether I should book the videographer since I can't seem to find any reviews. If you booked Ivan Luckie and/or the videographer, how was your experience? Thanks!!

TTD SESSION QUESTION: I'm in the process of booking my photographer and can't decide when I should book the TTD session. My plan was to book a room for 2 days in order to avoid the vendor fee and do the TTD the next day HOWEVER I'm not sure if my fiancé and I will be up for a photo shoot the day after partying all night for the wedding. So I figure well maybe I can book it for a day later BUT how will that work as far as the resort's outside vendor fee. Will I only have to pay for a day pass for him to return or will I be stuck paying the $500?
The outside vendor fee is just for the wedding day because you aren't using their photographers, that's the way I interpreted it anyway. We did our TTD the next morning after being up til after 1am partying, haha! My makeup was still on so I touched it up, I re-did some curls in my hair and we were off to meet the photographer at 10am! Another option is to ask your photographer where he/she wants to do the TTD, if they are from Mexico perhaps they'll take you somewhere else to do it, maybe a more private beach area or cenote depending on what kind you are doing. we did ours at a cenote across the highway from the Barcelo, our photographer picked us up at the front lobby and drove us there. I am always happy to hear you are doing a TTD, they are such a blast, I loved ours and the pics that came out from it!! Cheers!

I actually just asked that exact question and here is what I got...

"I have a question regarding our photographer. We are hiring an outside photographer and I have seen that there is a vendor fee of $500 for the day of the wedding. He will be coming back a few days later to do more photos for us. When he comes back will we have to pay another vendor fee or will it be a day pass fee since it isn't for a wedding?"

Wedding Coordinator answer...

"Yes he would have to pay the fee again."

So I am not sure what to think.  I didnt think we would have to pay $500 again but thats the way it sounds.  Our wedding is less than a month out and to book a room now it would be close to $800 for three nights.  I dont know what to do now....  Do I take the chance that when we get there they wont charge me two vendor fees?  Or book a room for $800???

That is absolutely crazy! If I were you ladies I would be asking the photographer if you guys could go elsewhere to do the photo shoot, or ask them what their take on the fees are and what other brides have done. It's so frustrating that their photographers are awful so we have to pay the price! It's also crazy you have to book 3 nights...isnt that my for just peak season bookings? My wedding was Nov 28 and we were allowed 2 nights booked, even November is more peak season in Mexico than July/August

It's totally frustrating!! I'm booking Ivan Luckie and he works with a videographer so they will be coming together. Luckily I will only be paying one fee if I can't book 2 rooms cheaper than $500. I decided to do the TTD the next morning at the beach since my fiancé doesn't swim, going to the cenote is out of the question LOL. FireyNurse, I have been reading backwards thru this thread and THANK YOU SOO MUCH for all your advice! A lot of questions I have have already been answered thanks to you! :)

No worries, I'm glad I can help! I got so much help here prior to my wedding so I am happy to return the favor! If Ivan works with a videographer why can't you just book one room? I had to book two because our photographer and videographer weren't together and both had assistants. Just curious if you could book one room for them...they don't have to actually sleep there or anything, that's their choice! Is your TTD the day after the wedding or the day after the day after?

Does anybody have a list of reception location options for the strawberry passion package? I have heard a lot of people talk about Playa Azul, but i'm wondering what else is an option. And also does anyone know where these locations are on the resort map?

I'd like a visual as to where is location is actually located.

I've msg'd my coordinator, but I know that they sometimes take a while to respond, so I thought I would see if anybody was provided with a list from their coordinator already.

Thanks so much!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
