If your bags are chosen to be searched, you'll need to prove the total value of the items you are bringing for the wedding or they can tax you on what they believe they are worth.

I am still deciding on my dinner menu, and I'm thinking of having surf and turf but ordering an extra platter of another variety of food from the menu to give my guests a little bit more variety, I'm wondering if anyone has done this and if it cost extra?

Also, I have about 6 guests who don't eat seafood, yet I want to have the surf and turf, if any of you have chose that option, were the guests that don't eat seafood allowed to just have the beef without lobster tail?

Thanks :)

For those that have a shellfish allergy (myself included), I am selecting another dish. My wedding coordinator told me that as long as I give them the exact # of which dishes (eg; 65 beef, 10 chicken, 5 vegetarian) then the kitchen staff can prepare the food. They can accommodate, you just need to ask and let them know.

Hey ladies, Just had our wedding at the Barcelo Tropical on May 1st/ 13 and it was amazing!!!! I had never been to the resort, and when I had my meeting with Xhail the day before the wedding, we planned everything from the menu, flowers, locations, pick up times etc.  I was stressed because the details weren't ironed out before we left, but these wedding planners are very professional and accommodating and will make sure your day is perfect!  If anyone has any questions, please message me, and happy planning!

They don't want you importing things to sell so you have to make sure the value of your goods is not above a certain amount...I can't recall the amount though. We had some michaels receipts, dollar store ones etc, nothing major and they didn't ask to see them. They did ask me how many people were bringing wedding supplies, it was my husband, myself and my brother and sister in law and they asked the value and I said under $200 and they just said go ahead. No huge issues. I guess it may depend on what you are taking and quantities. I don't think you need to have a recipt to account for every single thing, more so prove that you aren't carrying thousands of dollars of stuff in.

maybe we will see each other at the resort!!!

Want me to send pics? Templates? I have the bag toppers (generic, no date so can be used by anyone) and the key/tip holders (with our wedding date, but it can be changed pretty easily). What do you have left to do? I still have a few things not finished, but the bags are ALMOST done :) I have had to take a chill pill because I'm working full time and CAN'T stress about this lol. Let me know what you need and I'll see if I can help you out!

Hello Everyone-

Well our wedding has come and gone as of March 22, 2013. :( We had an amazing time! Our wedding at Barceló Maya Palace Deluxe was awesome! Victoria was our wedding coordinator and she really did a get job! I have a tone of pictures. If anyone has any question about their upcoming wedding I will be more than happy to answer them. We had our ceremony at the Gazebo (5:00) and the reception was at the Palamas Grill (7:00). I did get my hair & make up done at the spa.

I've just started our wedding website (chelseaandjimmy.com) and was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind sharing their website? I'm interested to see what sort of information people had about the resort on their websites. There's so much information I could put! Thanks!! :)

If anyone is thinking about starting their website I used ewedding.com and LOVE it so far. SUPER easy and they have nice layouts. I paid about $50 for the year and got to choose my own domain name etc. Just a tip! I know there's a bunch of ways to go with the website...but I'd for sure recommend this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
