I would like to know this as well! I told my WC that I wanted a rehearsal dinner, which she said was fine, but we haven't talked about it since. She said that we could have a couple tables set up, with a set menu for our group. I don't really want anything special for the dinner, just a chance to get together and walk through the wedding itself. Does she contact a restaurant at the resort or do I?

We just told our WC what we wanted and she called the restaurant and told them how many people.  We told our WC when we were in Mexico - so a day or 2 before we actually had our rehearsal dinner... but our invitations already said the date, time and place.  Sometimes you just have to go with it.

I never received any photos of the colours unfortunately. I just looked at photos of the flowers that they sent with sash colours in the background. What I ended up doing was sending a picture of what I wanted to the WC and she emailed back and said they didn't have those, but could rent them for $4 a chair. I actually bought my own online instead because they were way cheaper. http://www.tablelinendirect.com/12orsaco.html I'll just sell them after the wedding :)

Even though I was worried about this...the officiant ended up being one of the best surprises of the ceremony! He did a great job and definitely knew what he was doing. I did write out a few things like how to say my name (it spelled differently :) ), that I wanted him to mention we had originally met in Mexico, an explanation of the ring warming ceremony we did, the hands reading, and that we were saying our own vows. I did not write out an exact script but put things I wanted incorporated and he did an awesome job of combining all of that with normal intros, vows, ring exchange, etc.

I am sure you could write out an entire script and he would do it word for word but seriously I would not worry AT ALL he was great and even improvised for us when our ring warming ceremony reading was way too short.

BTW I think there is only one minister/officiant used at Barcelo...

Good to know! I just need to relax, find something meaningful to say and just have faith that it will all go well. I tried explaining to my fiance that the ceremony can include whatever you want and he was floored...he was like, is there not a template that everyone kinda follows? LOL. No such luck sweetheart, we actually have to put time and effort into coming up with meaningful things to say hahah! Oh boy...Thank you for reassuring me. I feel like I would have lost my mind by now with all the questions if I hadn't found this site!!!!

I got our video recently and I can watch it and try to write down exactly what was said, if that would help. We didn't give him anything, he just said his own stuff. He did ask my husband little simple questions about us (all while the party walked down the isle mostly) and then he threw them in as little details, like how long we were together, that kinda thing. The Hands poem was a total fluke that he read it and we also were wanting it read.

I don't know why I'm really worried. It will be great no matter what, I'm sure! Aww that's okay, you don't have to write down everything that was said in your ceremony! It sounds like he did an amazing job :) On a side note, in addition to paying him the fee, did you guys give a donation to his church? I've heard in lieu if tipping him, you're supposed to donate or something...do you know anything about this?

I don't know if it was wrong or cheap but I figured the $300 for him standing there doing our ceremony for 15 minutes was plenty of money and it was actual cash in his hands. As far as I know the resort takes no cut of it and its all his money.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
