Reading all your comments has been so very helpful!! I have a few questions. At what point did you start planning where the wedding ceremony and reception is at? My wedding is June 12, 2013 I tried planning things with my WC mooooonths ago however they told me they deal with a lot of weddings and they would contact me in the new year. It is now almost march and I finally got someone to respond to me yesterday. I am concerned I will not have my choice for venues. For those of you that have the strawberry package where did you have the reception??

I would send an email asking about starting the process.  My wedding date is 6/7/13 and am on step 5, which is picking flowers, with my contact Claudia.  Don't stress though, they have you confirmed you will move along.  Best suggestion I got, send emails with very brief and few questions.  They don't like to respond to long paragraphs or multiple questions in one email.  I can go a week or more without talking with her but we still move forward.  We are staying there until the 10th so maybe we could arrange drinks to celebrate the weddings! Good luck!

I havent heard anyone really talk about Ruth so I dont know how good she is.  My wedding is Nov 11th... I have hardly heard from her at all yet.  I dont know anything about this preferred VIP. What is this and how much is it extra?

I have Ruth as my WC as well. She has been really responsive so far. The most I've had to wait to hear from her is a week (which from what I've been reading is pretty normal if not better) I don't know if that will maybe make you feel somewhat better. I had worried at first too because I hadn't heard ANYONE talk about having her as a WC.

I was wondering what suggestions previous brides have for the live music for the ceremony? What did you use and were you happy with your choice? I went on YouTube and listened to some sample music from the choices but I'm not sure how accurate of a way to decide that is.
I chose the bass and keyboard as my selection as I wanted canon in D played and felt this was a great choice for that. Apparently the day of the wedding something happened to the guitar player so we had keyboard and violin, I have heard a short snippet of it from a video and I love how it sounds! I have heard positive things about all the love music!

Thank you so much for getting back to me!! It makes me feel better = )   Like you said, I have never seen anyone talk about Ruth being their WC so I was thinking maybe she was new or something and then I freaked out a bit more!!!

Hey, my choices are the sax, flute and guitar. I have NO idea which to pick. I know I dont want the flute...  I wonder how the guitar would be? I have heard nothing about a keyboard?  Also, I have no idea what to give my guests as a little gift at dinner. I want to leave a little something by each plate but havent really read anything thats different. I looked online as well and its all the same stuff. Have any ideas?

Hello barcelo brides!! My wedding is scheduled for November 21, 2013 and I'm so excited, it can't come soon enough :D Does anyone know if you can upgrade services in a smaller wedding package? Like if we wanted to do the reception on the beach but didn't want the other expensive extras included. Any input is greatly appreciated - thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
