We have been to this resort in July twice in the past but I don't remember how hot it was at night. I'm trying to decide if it would be ok to have our reception on the beach. I really don't want to have it in the banquet room when we will be at such a beautiful beach! Thoughts??

I am also getting married in July! What's your wedding date? I was initially worried about the heat as well, but we kept an eye on the weather network over the summer and it didn't seem too hot! My parents were in the mayan riviera in July and said you'll want to spend lots of time at the pool. We are going to have our reception indoors to give our guests a break from the heat. I think that we will be spending TONS of time outside during the week we are there, so people won't mind being inside for 3 hours at dinner time. I've also heard on this forum that it can be VERY windy...I'd rather not have sand being blown into my food!!! I really thought I wanted dinner on the beach, but I'm happy with the decision to have it in inside.

I love the Hands poem! I guess since we are writing our own short vows that will be a good time when he asks us to say something :)

Nope, we didn't speak with the officiant at all before, just told Victoria that we wanted a reading done and she set it up with him I guess. You would tell her the same if you were doing a sand ceremony or something else extra. My husband said that the officiant spoke with him briefly right before I walked down the aisle when he asked if we'd been together long and little questions like that. He made my husband face him until I got close enough down the aisle (at the gazebo) and then he had him turn around to see me....talk about suspense! :o)

i think the best option is a beautiful reception on the beach. July is really hot and humid but always with a nice breeze.

So weird because Smile Market just emailed me today asking if I had a photographer lol! I will just follow your guys' advice and ignore them!

Did you pay the fee directly to them or your WC?

OMG - are you serious??  Those guys are ANNOYING!

We paid the fee directly to them. When we went their credit card machines were not working (not online) so we were about ready to leave and be like - well you had your chance, but then they got them going... our WC, Jacqueline just politely reminded us to pay them before we left.  She only mentioned it like 2 times and we saw her a lot.  I think she understands the frustrations of the bride and groom with having to pay that large fee.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
