How did you distribute them? Did you do it yourself or did the hotel staff help? How did you do this when guests arrive on different days?

We have about 30 guests so not too overwhelming to hand them out ourselves but thought it would be cute to have it waiting in their room for them..

Thanks!

We hand delivered all of ours as our guests checked in.  It was a nice way for us to welcome them all to the resort personally, but we did end up spending most of a day in the lobby greeting people.

Previous Brides-

Did you use a travel agent to book your hotel and airfare? Or did you just have everyone book their own? I have contacted a travel agent and it seems like I can find prices thru expedia/orbitz to be cheaper than the rate that the travel agent has given.  Even though the rate that the travel agent is giving is the "group rate" I don't see the perks of the group rate if it is more expensive than booking it thru expedia or orbitz.

With that said, did any previous brides get a group rate for hotel rooms directly from the hotel? If so, please let me know how I can do that as well.

Thanks ladies!!

we used a travel agent who beat any price you found on the internet by $10. So not only were we getting the best deal but we were all getting the value of using a travel agent.

Our travel agent negotiated a free rehearsal dinner for 20 people, a free cocktail hour for 71 people, an upgraded room for us and she made sure all of our guests were around one another. She got everyone private transportation from the airport for the price of the "group" transportation as well. She also got us good deals on the excursions.

Basically we told all of our guests when they were ready to book to search the internet for the best deal and then call our agent. It worked out perfectly.

I have the same problem... and I literally had a friend follow me around with these oil tissue things and she'd blot my face every so often...  I don't know how to get around it.  When I walked out of the salon my make-up was perfect... but once I started walking down the aisle - it "shiny" bad.  :(

maybe using mineral powder foundations will work. Just make sure to wear makeup or moisturizer with SPF.

Im not 100% sure but I don't think that any of the rooms are smoking but you can smoke on the patios for sure, and yes all rooms have patios! We were in the Oaxaca building, beach front and it was fantastic. There are two buildings and they are side by side, you can see them on the map. My biggest request would be closest to the ocean (or ocean front) if you can, saves a lot of walking!!

I am currently working with Claudia for my June 7, 2013 wedding.  She is easy to work with and answers my questions within a couple days, which I feel is good timing given the number of weddings they do and the process that they have to keep for each of the different weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
