Here are some flowers from the resort:  *

Hi Ladies, I had a question, for all you who have already had your wedding at Barcelo. Our wedding is less then 4 months away and I still have not gotten a response from my WC. Our ceremony will be at the Coral Beach( I believe this is the most private beach?) There will be about 40-50 guests. I had told my WC about 30 guests, but my list keeps growing. Does any one know if theres a deadline to which you can give the final count?

Since we chose the Mint Breeze package the reception will be inside. My WC had sent me a photo of the banquet room, but it looks so plain :( Does any one have any photos they can email of how you decorated the banquet room? sahagun1025@yahoo.com Also, do you know if the resort offers drapes and lighting? Did any of you have to bring your own decorations? or do they take care of everything?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just getting a little worried since I don't hear back. Thanks for all your help ladies! :)

I can only answer the question about the final count - you will give the final count to your WC the first time you meet with her.  Our numbers changed DAILY while we were in Mexico so we gave our numbers to her the day before the wedding.

I have been in the banquet rooms - but they look like any banquet room at any resort.  I had my reception in the Coral Grille and brought most of my own decorations.  They did add candles, and rose petals on the tables, linens, chair ties, etc... It just depends on what you want I guess.

For past brides that have done OOT bags..

How did you distribute them? Did you do it yourself or did the hotel staff help? How did you do this when guests arrive on different days?

We have about 30 guests so not too overwhelming to hand them out ourselves but thought it would be cute to have it waiting in their room for them..

Thanks!

Ladies,

I have emailed the Bacelo 2x in the last two weeks to get information about the wedding packages etc and see what they had available in November 2013. Does anyone have a WC email address, so I can email them directly. Every other resort I have emailed has responded in a timely manner.

Thanks ladies.

weddings1@barcelomaya.com <-- I don't know if this is what you have or not. My travel agent just sent me an email today with this info and I haven't tried contacting them yet. You can PM your email address and I can forward you the wedding package information my travel agent sent me.

Your best bet may be to check the Barcelo site, under the weddings section the different packages are posted, it's a great place to start if you're just wanting to review packages and prices to begin.

We did OOT bags... So we arrived on a Thursday (along with some other family) and others arrived on Friday.  When I knew I'd see them, I'd give them to them or I'd ask them to stop by our room on the way back from dinner.  I think they typically put the bride and groom in a room that is very near the front and closest to the lobby (which is a good thing).  I had a "welcome cocktail" on Saturday night and distributed the rest then. Only 2 other couples were coming a day later.  I think the hotel charges $3-$5 a bag to deliver.  Believe me, the guests do not expect them so when they get them, they are excited and shocked!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
