Hi everyone,

My Fiance and I booked our group wedding travel with Marlin Travel.  We also purchased our wedding package with them through Transit Holidays "The Bliss Package".  I was wondering if anyone else has done so and what there thoughts are or if they can share their experience.

My fiance and I are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe on June 20th at 1pm and have anywhere from 25 to 30 guests coming.

Thanks!

Hello ladies, my wedding day is getting closer and closer so I wanted to get back in on the forum, it's been a while! I am getting married February 23rd! Can't hardly wait! We r having trouble w the grooms attire though. Do any of you have recommendations on where to find light khaki pants w a matching vest to buy? Don't want them to have to wear a suit but looks like it might come down to that!

So sorry to be flooding this with my posts, figured I'd get them all out while I have time! Here are our playlists for dinner and the dance, looking back I might have put a few more songs on each, we thought we had plenty and we did have enough but could have been safer with more Dinner started with our first dance song as we did that first before anything else so the photographer and videographer were still there for it: 700 700 Dance: 700 700 [/quote

Hello, I am wondering if any one has any information about the Hotel Spa. In out wedding package I get Hair and Make up included. I have already booked Styling Trio, Adrien and his team but I can save a few hundred taking up the hotel package. But are they any good? Your feed back would be very much appreciated.. HELP we leave in 4 weeks.

I used the hotel spa for my hair and make-up.  They did a fantastic job.  I brought photos of how my hairstylist did my hair (with veil) here at home and also provided photos of make-up I liked.  The spa staff speak very little English but do wonders when given a picture to go by.  I have read many brides have used Adrian and loved him but I did not think the money spent was worth it when the spa did a fabulous job and it was already included in your package.  My hair and make-up stood up all day without any issues.  Good luck!

The dance floor information is so helpful to know and help my budget.  I am still deciding on inside or outside wedding since we will have about 50 people, meaning a couple thousand dollar difference.  Was it hard to have people staying in different properties, same resort but not having access to the Palace area?  We are looking at a group rate for the Palace, which is reasonable but I didn't know if it would make a difference to offer a cheaper option for those that might want to stay longer at one of the other areas.  How did you get everyone from the airport to the hotel?  We have many guests who are not good travelers and I will have to arrange some transportation for them before the are "attacked" by the time share sellers & other transporation people at the Cancun airport.  They would be easy targets.  So many questions, but so super helpful!!!

As far as the outside fees goe and getting rooms etc, I have posted about what we did but I know there is tons to read so I will re-post. We had a photographer (Juan Navarro) and his assistant as well as a Videographer (Playaweddings) and an assistant. When I inquired I was told I had to pay $500 for EACH outside vendor or book them two nights stay. I booked each company a room at the Beach/Caribe for two nights and it was definitely a savings for us! If you sign up for mybarcelo.com you can get great deals on room rates, 30-50% off, I put the photographer and videographer names on the reservation page and their address/phone info and paid the rooms and sent them the confirmation info, they had no issue accessing their rooms! We paid just under $600 total for the 2 rooms for two nights each, saved ourselves $400!!

We had no issues with anyone being allowed at the palace for our wedding, not the photographer and videographer with their Beach bracelets or our guests with Colonial bracelets but they did not go to the Carrey bar either as we didn't have anything there, if they tried to drink there they would have been told they couldn't I am sure.

Wow!  We only had to pay a $300 outside fee for the photographer - not the videographer.  I love Barcelo but I think that is their one area of improvement - consistency in their policies and enforcement of them.  However, that being said, an outside videographer fee may be new since we got married in February 2012.

Ive heard alot of good things about Adrien, although when I tried to book him for my wedding months ago, it took until literally a few weeks ago for him to return my email. I know there was alot of issues because one of his staff members ended up quitting. I thankfully have a friend traveling with me who is going to take care of my hair. I was looking for a make up person. I booked a girl that works at MAC and she will be coming to the resort that day. From what I was told, Adrien already has an agreement with Barcelo and you wont need a day pass.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
