I am wondering if any previous brides/grooms can answer a question regarding booking your photographer in at the resort?!  If I book through the Barcelo site for 2 nights do I have to put in the comments or notes that the photographer is staying there, or do I have to make sure to meet him at the entrance of the resort to make sure he gets in to get the room or how does it work when I am booking him on my credit card under my name but for him to stay?! I am so confused and don't want my confusion to cost us more money! Thanks!!
I only booked one night

Hi melcrna80

I am not sure who you plan to use but I would ask the photographers what they recommend. I am not sure if you have booked a photographer yet or not, but the company I am going to use sent us their package details and will be on site all day and all night. They do not book by the hour but by the package. We are booked for January 31, 2012  - http://www.fototakeit.com/blog/

They also do a great trash the dress package.. $500 for the day and all of the photos. Good Luck!!

Hello,

This is one of my first posts as most of our plans are now under way and we have booked most of the vendors we are going to be using. We are having our wedding at the Barcelo Maya on Jan 31, 2013.. We have booked a photographers (http://www.fototakeit.com/blog/) , DJ (http://www.xcancun.com/doremixx/home.html) and Hair and Make up artists (http://stylingtriorivieramaya.com/) all to come in for the wedding day.

We know we will have to pay $500 for the photographers to come in and $500 for the Dj and a Day pass for each of the Hair and Make-up artists.. Is there any other way around this that anyone is familiar with or have any advise of how to bargain with the hotel on the vendor fees. Also does anyone one know what a day pass costs.

Thank you..

Marina

Day passes are $97 if I remember correctly!

I am in the midst of doing the same type of dealing with the WC Victoria, it hasn't been easy!

What I have found out so far is even if I used the on site photographer for just video for the ceremony I still had to pay $500 or have my photographer stay 2 nights (2 nights at the Beach is MUCH cheaper than the $500), so I decided forget it I hate their vendor so I will bring in my own for video too if they are charging me either way. So now we are having PlayaWeddings come in as well and when I asked about the vendor fee she said I only have to pay the $500 once. I tried to confirm if I had to purchase day passes for everyone else and she has yet to get back to me. It is SUPER frustrating because we are trying to do it the cheapest way possible, but with us leaving for our wedding in EXACTLY 60 days we are running out of time! lol!

Let me know what you hear and I'll keep you posted if I hear! :o)

Don't be too frustrated......I leave in 6 days...Wedding is in 10 and I still haven't had any confirmation on flowers, spa appointments, cake, timeline for the day, and if she wants a list of people who are coming. I need to contact the D.J and photographer with different pieces of information and I can't get a response either. I just send her information and hope she recieves it. I know they do this all the time so  I'm trying to use the "blind faith" method of thinking....But still I have no idea where I am as far as costs etc... I am equally frustrated!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
