One of my best friends got married at the resort in 2010 and since she was living in Germany and we were all coming from the states, I threw her bachelorette party in Mexico so we could all be there.  We went to Blue Parrot: http://www.blueparrot.com/beach-club/  and a couple other places near it.  I had the resort concierge book us a mini-van cab (there were 8 of us) and I think they charged us $40 round trip.  They dropped us off around 8pm and then came back to pick us up at 1:30am to take us back to the resort.  We had a blast and it was easy.

So Ivan is taking her spot (and they have yet to tell me I have to pay more....I signed a contract so I can't imagine them charging me more). I dealt with Ivan the entire time through my process of choosing my photographer and he has been great! I'm actually really excited that Belen can't make it!  Ivan and his wife will be staying at the resort (I booked the Beach for them, no need to pay the Palace prices)  The resort requires you to use there photographers or pay a $500 outside vendor fee....UNLESS your photographer is a guest of the resort! I found the info here on the website and I have found that since they raised their outside vendor prices to $500 most Brides so it this way.

I have read on here several times that you either pay the $500 for outside vendors or 2 nights at the hotel so they are a guest. According to my travel agent Barcelo requires a 3 night minimum to book and when I looked on their website and Expedia/Orbitz it would not let me check prices for the two nights I selected. How many nights did you pay for for the photographer?

Barcelo.com

Weird when I go on directly through Barcelo it says "For the period of dates consulted requires a minimum of 3 nights of stay" (I did different dates surrounding my wedding date). Must be because of Spring Break and/or the time of year.

Looks like its cheaper to pay the $500 or go with the resort photographer. Thanks for your help :)

I would say that your dad shouldn't wear the same thing the groomsmen are wearing so he doesn't look like one of the groomsmen. I am going to have my dad wear something similar that goes well with my colors.

I think you might be right on this one, perhaps its time of year because we are booking just two nights and each time I check the price on Barcelo it lets me do 2 nights only (sheesh, I better get on that! lol)  Don't forget too, book them at the cheapest level of hotel too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
