Hi everyone! I am planning my wedding at the Barcelo Maya Palace for November 10, 2012. This website has been beyond amazing with advice and ideas! I just booked my date and am beginning to work with Claudia. So, far I know we plan to have a Catholic ceremony in the chapel and I want our reception at one of the open air grills (we have the strawberry passion package). I like the looks of the Palmeras Grill and the Coral Grill. Does anyone have any recommendations for which one is best?

Also - Claudia e-mailed me about the early stages for planning the ceremony and asked me to select what music I would like - Violin, flute, saxophone, or musicians (keyboard & bass). She wants me to choose one but I would kind of like to hear each before I make a decision. Can anyone offer their opinion on what they liked based on your experience??

Thanks so much!!

Palmeras grill is an option for the Strawberry Passion package, the Coral grill usually isn't.  They use it in the evenings - so I think you have to pay big bucks, or have a really large group to get the Coral Grill.

I had the violinist, it was nice.  To be honest I don't even remember what they played :)

Can someone please post a pic of the Palmeras grill? I am sure I have seen it but but I can't remember. Also, can anyone tell me what kind of room they use for the reception in the Mint Breeze Package? we haven't decided between that one or the Strawberry. We are only having  20 people so it's small but I want it to look nice.

Thanks

Angela,

My advice if you have a question - go to the "search this thread" option.  Most of these pictures are from this thread.  Many a person has asked and had answers posted before us!

Check out this thread and a few others

Another tip to see ceremony and reception locations - go on the well known photographers websites (Del Sol, Sascha Gluck etc. and they usually have their weddings tagged by location.

and if all else fails, just randomly googling things usually is fruitful!

Hope that helps!

Here are some Palmeras Grill

Congrats! We used Claudia too, she was fantastic...quite quick with responses, never more than a couple days. Our reception was at Coral Beach, in front of the Coral Grille, was a beautiful setting, the plam trees all lit up, sound of waves crashing. Loved it...

For our ceremony we went with the saxaphone and they were really good. We just decided last minute when we had our meeting with Claudia. Originally we werent going to have any, but I am glad we did. When my father and I first arrived at the hall outside the gazebo, it took me a minute to realize it was for us the music was playing...it filled the halls! Highly recommend the sax...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
