Wow Avens, thanks so much for the post, your wedding looked beautiful!  It's nice to see another Western Canadian bride on here.  Our wedding is on April 12th, and we are getting really excited!

I just found out today that the photographer who was coming with us from Canada is no longer able to make it.  :(  So, we are now going back to the drawing board and trying to find a photographer.  I think we have settled on Claudia Rodriguez, so if anyone has any experience with her let me know, or if you have any other recommendations that would be great!

Also, if anyone has a list of the menu options that would be really helpful.  We would love to have the surf n' turf but are worried it may no longer be available.

Thanks again for all of the info ladies, this site is incredibly helpful!

AudEv2012, we are going with Erick Rodriguez from Claudia Rodriguez photography - he is actually her brother.  Claudia was already booked for our wedding day.  We will be posting a review after our wedding.

Ohhh good!! I can't wait to see your pictures! You must be getting soooo excited for your wedding day :)

Has anyone had experience getting flameless candles or maracas while in Mexico before the wedding? We've heard it's better than packing it all there, but I have no idea where to find such things, and don't want to get ripped off!!

Also, does anyone know if there are options for chairs WITHOUT chair covers? And what the cost would be to do this.

Thank you all soooo much, I love hearing from all the other brides, this site has literally saved me

We used Sascha Gluck.  We had him booked for one night, and my wedding coordinator said that if anyone asked, he was one of our guests.  No one asked any questions, and we didn't have to pay the outside photographer fee, or for a second night.  I don't know if we just lucked out big time - but I think being very courteous and polite and gracious to your WC makes a big difference.  They are super busy, and there might be someone of a language barrier, I think some brides might get impatient and demanding.  This is their job, and I really think they are doing the best they can!

We are thinking about doing the same thing with the maracas too, We thought it would be easier then worrying about customs. Does anyone know that best route? we too are worried about getting ripped off or having problems.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
