Hey Ladies :)  I have booked the Palace for April 25th and I'm pretty excited.  Does anyone know what package you are required to purchase in order to have your reception in one of the grills though?  I really want to do the mint breeze package so that I don't get dinged $66 extra per person above the 15 included in the strawberry passion package .... but the only issue is that I don't want to use a banquet room.  Has anyone else had this kind of conversation with their WC?  Having a hard time getting responses back.  Thanks!

Hi Cheepers,

So to have your reception in on of the open air grills you can either go with the Strawberry Passion package and yes after 15 people then you pay $66 per person. Or if you are booked with Transat holidays they have a Euphoira package and you can up grade to have the open air grill for $27.50 per person. So for me we did that and that package I think includes 24 people which works better for us as we are going to have about 21 ppl. This package is $1500 and you pay your TA. Not sure where you are from USA, or Canada but check it out... they are different packages meaning you do get more with the Strawberry Passion but you can always upgrade what you want as we are doing! ;)

Hope this helps. Carla

The music is pretty good, but the club is hit or miss.  It really depends on who is staying at the resort and goes there that night.  Sometimes it's totally empty.  One night they played all Mexican music and seemed like everyone in there was Mexican, too. :)  They play requests if you want to give them.  It's the only place on the property to dance.  The only other options for drinking into the late hours would be one of the lobby bars...they are set up more like lounges...and they are air conditioned.

Is there a DJ? Or is it a live band? And by requests, I'm assuming I can ask for particular American songs?  With our package we get 50% off for the wedding party in the VIP lounge so I'm hoping it's not too expensive to take everyone. We will have about 35- 40 people, so I'd be ok with it being empty! Mor fun for us! lol

Thanks Carla...that's really good to know.  Gabriela told me that I could upgrade the mint breeze package but it's $27.50 per person, and then $24.00 for each person above 20.  I'm going to check out whether the Euphoria package is a better deal, because you get the upgraded menu and a few more amenities and whatnot :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
