Thanks for the info Jessica. I've emailed Adrian and I'm just waiting for a reply.  I am taking a photographer with me, but she is a solo team, so I'm hoping to find one local to the area as well. I will contact Claudia as well and see what their prices are. Thanks again!

Katie - We actually booked for May 19th! Too bad, because that would have been a great deal. I was so skeptical of planning this whole event because I have never even seen the resort! I am relieved to be getting so much great feedback on how beautiful the resort is!  I will email you! Stay tuned! :-)

Lynn P. what is your wedding date?  Have you decided whether you are doing that cruise?  If so, I will be sure to touch base with you and see how it went. That sounds expensive. Did I mention that I'm cheap? lol

I am so completely terrified that the airbrushed foundation will not match my skin tone.  Frankly, I'm just freaked out by the unknown factors.  My travel agent has reminded me that in order to relax I have to remain flexible. Hahaha  Maybe I will have someone here try it out first.  I'm hoping that my friend who is a makeup artist can make it so that will be one less think that I have to worry about. <Taking a deep breath>

Hi 419Soon2BBride... re the Delta rebate ... the info on their web site says the rebate is sent to you in the form of a check once travel is complete. Just pointing that out in case you were planning on having it available to pay for excursions or something during your stay ... I don't think you get it til after you get home. http://www.deltavacations.com/specials/specialoffer.do?specialOfferCode=12494DVC

I am just going to have to put together a fun itinerary to pass the time :-) We are a pretty young crowd so I don't think anyone will be too opposed to getting the party started early.  (Unless they have hangovers from the night before!) We are flying out of Detroit, and Delta had the only direct flight, plus the $ back was pretty enticing. I'm trying to find a cool way to spend it that will be fun for everyone there!  I still have yet to book a photographer and a hair stylist.  I am skeptical about booking someone there that I have never dealt with. Any suggestions?

419 soon2bbride.....Oh no,from the info I have read about Adrian, he was a licensed stylist in the states and moved there, hes a professional, I would think he will certainly be able to match your skin tone, its airbrush, MAC makeup, so he will custom match your skin tone.  Are you familiar with or heard of MAC makeup?  Its great! ALso thats what the trial is for, just to make sure the shade is perfect!  That is actually what I use, (MAC)  not airbrush formula, but just about everything else.  AND yes that cruise is spendy, too much for me too, can't do it either unfortunately. I just thought I'd pass the info along.  It would be fun to treat all of our guests to some sort of excursion  being  they're making the trip for our wedding, but its so expensive!

Anyone have any suggestions for gathering your guests together other than the actual wedding day???  Thanks ladies, this site has been so helpful for ideas and advice!!

He uses MAC?! That's a relief! That's all I use, but I've never had the airbrush.....I think I'm more worried about how my hair will turn out. How many guests are you having?  If you get any good leads on activities, please let me know. My email is: Chas_n_Stan12@hotmail.com  I found this jungle zip line excursion that I am excited to try, but I can't see paying for the entire wedding party at $80 per person!

Hi ladies!

I was married at the Barcelo in April. I see that some of you are looking for some excursions. I really can't reccommend Paradise Catamarans enough www.paradisecatamarans.com . We took our crew out for an afternoon booze cruz, and it was definiately one of the highlights of the trip. They went totally above and beyond with a bunch of sweet suprises for us that we weren't expecting. The whole thing cost us less than 2K for 36 of us, and it was worth every penny! If spoiling your guests is in your budget I say do it!

As for make-up I really contemplated going with Adrian but at the end of the day I decided to risk it and go with the hotel. I am SO glad I did! They use Mac at the hotel spa too and I was so happy with how it turned out... and it lasted all day! It wasn't without some challanges though, the first girl who tried to do my make-up was horrible but she could see I wasn't happy so she passed me off to another artist who was incredible. If you go with the spa at the resort bring pictures and don't be afraid to let them know if you arent happy. You can see my make-up in my albums below.

I only just got my pictures in the last couple weeks and have gotten around to uploading my getting ready photos and the post ceremony photo session albums... I still have to upload the ceremony and reception albums. I will definately share the links to those when I get around to it, because I'm sure that's what you girls will want to see but in the meantime here are the links to first two albums:

Meggers I love your bouquet! Did you have it done by the resort?

I've been in touch with Gabriela, and she has been amazing. Sometimes she replies the same day.  If people are having issues - my advice is be polite and friendly. She has been so wonderful to work with thus far.  Also I didn't try contacting her until Late April once I figured things had slowed down a bit, which may have helped.

What did you do for your ceremony Meggers? Did you have the Huppah? Any photos of that? That's my next decision :) We seem to have similar tastes though, I'm doing a green theme :)

Hey Avens!

My bouquet was done by the resort and my bm's bouquets and the gm's bouts were done by Planner One. My huppah and chairs for the ceremony and lounge furniture for the reception was also from Planner One.

Here is the link to our ceremony and reception proofs. I haven't weeded through them yet and there are a lot of them, but you'll definately get a sense of how things were set up. The are all out of order so keep scrolling through for more pics under the huppah.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
