Okay girls!! I am getting married April 29th...two weeks from today!! I am so excited and so nervous! I have not heard back from my wedding planner Victoria yet so I am hoping I have chairs rented and everything is good to go got that day! Fingers crossed!

Does anyone have any advise for me before I go? Any tips from former brides? It would be greatly appreciated! I do have a couple of questions that maybe you girls can answer for me......

1. I am bringing cocktail umbrellas for the name cards... does anyone know if they can supply something that I can put sand in to make the umbrellas stand up?

2. I would like a lot of tealights and votive candles throughout the reception on all the tables.. do they supply these or should I bring them? Might be pretty heavy to bring with me so I would prefer not to.

3. I am bringing flip flops for everyone for the reception and little wands for the ceremony... do they supply baskets or something that I can put them in? It's going to be really hard to bring this so I hope they have something.

Please let me know girls, thanks soooooo much =)

I wonder what is up with Victoria. The last I heard from her was Feb. 17. My wedding is July 12, so, I'm not too worried-yet! One thing I'm doing is getting fans. Think I will have them placed on the chairs for the ceremony. I did see some pictures where they had umbrellas for guests.

I'd love to hear the answers to questions like this!

Also, you're getting married the same day as Kate and William.  In Canada its on the news every darn night, its no engrained in my head.  :P

Hopefully you get some answers and yay to the people up right away! I just hit the T- minus 9 months mark.

Hi there!

I think I can sort of help you with these questions.  The only thing they supply is what is included in your package.  I don't think they keep stuff like candles and baskets on hand.  When we were at the wedding office, they only had the items in there that are included with wedding packages (chair bows, center piece examples that are an extra cost, etc)  There is a book to go through when picking out your flowers and center pieces, so I think what you see is what you get, unless you bring your own stuff.  They may be able to get candles for you but it would be much more expensive than bringing your own with you.  So my advice would be to bring as much with you that you can, and they will set it all up for you for no extra charge.  That way you will be guaranteed to have exactly what you want.  We brought a lot with us and luckily our friends and family were willing to pack stuff for us in their suitcases.  If you are having an outdoor reception, I recommend bringing flameless candles.  I brought both flameless and regular candles and we couldn't even light the regular candles because of the wind, so I'm glad I had the other ones.  I also brought my own candle holders and vases.  My suggestion for the flip flops is maybe you can bring them to the wedding office and they can put them all out on a table for you at the reception.  Maybe on the table with your guest book?

Here is a list of what we brought with us for the wedding:

Candles, candle holders, vases, sea shells, decorative sand, maracas, cake topper, sand ceremony vases, wedding bubbles.

Great information! Thanks ladies!  I'm hoping to get married at the Barcelo May 2012 - just waiting on pricing.  It was originally Feb 2012, but the prices were way to high so we decided to push it to May in hopes that we get something more reasonable.

Quick question about the Gazebo at the Palace.  Does anyone know how you'd walk into the Gazebo for a wedding ceremony?  Do you go down steps, through a hall, is there an aisle?  The reason I ask is I'd like to get a few more flower arragements to make it feel more like a wedding aisle and right now I'm not sure where I'd place them.

Has anyone considered sharing decorations?? If so would the W/C's keep the items in storage between the weddings?

I am getting married November 17th this year, and have already purchased the following for decor :

- 3 bags of assorted sea shells

- 42 starfish

- flameless candles

- 4 large yellow candle holders

- 6 medium yellow candle holders

- 6 small yellow candle votives

- 16 8inch white lanterns

- 4 photo frames for guest book signing table

(PICTURES ATTACHED)

I also plan on bringing the following :

- Cake cutter and server

- 2 vases for the sand ceremony to hold the sand

- Additional flameless candles

- Yellow organza table runners

- Yellow flower petals (do they allow silk for table decoration??)

- Fancy pen and holder for the guest book table and signing wedding license

- A number of large vases for various uses

- A bunch of other stuff that I just can't think of right this minute!!

After the wedding I really don't need any of the above, so would anyone else be interested in sharing? Will save you paying for extra luggage fee's to drag all that stuff down there!

Joanne that's such a great idea. It sounds like they are willing to help so that could work. My weddings too soon to figure that out but it's a great idea. I think it'd have to be set up personally between brides because if they just kept stuff brides left behind they could prolly charge for it.

Hi there,

I am thinking about getting the mint breeze package and I am wondering if any of you can tell me what the reception area they include and what the banquet hall you have dinner is is like?  If you have photos and are will to share, that is even better!

I would really appreciate any info and TIA! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
