Hello Ali,

Wow thanks for all the insight on your wedding experience @ Barcelo.  I had a question for you... did you hire an outside wedding planner/coordinator other than yours from the resort?  I noticed you had beautiful chairs and isle decor.  I was curious who I can get in touch with for those.  Wasn't sure if you got those thru your florist or someone else... Also if you dont mind me asking.... Was your florist very expensive?  I have looked at her website, looks fantastic.  One more thing, did Barcelo make you choose a wedding PACKAGE? How did that work, it looks like you had all outside vendors...Not sure how that works if they have other options ??? If they make you choose a pkg then you hire outsideres yourself or what...YOur advice is much appreciated!!!!!!!!! SOrry about all the questions.

Thanks Girl!

Does anyone know the choice of chair sashes and table runners?

After the wedding I am planning on leaving all unused items with my WC, have no intentions of lugging it back on the return trip, maybe some bride can use it after. Do you think other brides have done this in the past and that maybe the WC's have a supply of vases, candle holders, sashes, lightening, laterns, etc ...........

For our wedding we used the WC from the hotel (Claudia) she has been very nice thus far and im happy we have her. However she does take a long time to reply to my emails sometimes, and when I ask her questions she doesnt always answer them. BangHead.gif

I got a outside photographer because they recently changed the hotels and I wasnt a big fan of their work. I booked Ivan Luckie and hes been AWESOME to work with. http://www.facebook.com/index.php?lh=e1dbeb20bf2344e638cd636b30f5363c&eu=a7LLUCRuFEHx3DXaIVsFgA#!/pages/Luckie-Photography/336746687249 They do make you pay either $300 or for a hotel stay for bringing your own photographer in.

As far as bringing my own stuff in Claudia never did reply to me on what the decorations included were so im just being a few small things to spruce it up a bit. Im also using my own centerpieces and bringing candels and paper lanters to hang. '

They do ask you to purchase a package and if you go on their website theyre all listed there.

Hope that helps a bit :wavey:

Hello ladies,

Anyone have the breakdown of the differences between the features of each of the 5 hotels at Barcelo Maya?

I am creating my Wedding Website and under "Resort Information" I have listed the 5 hotels within the resort but want to provide information on each.

Anyone have this handy?
Thanks!

Oopps, forgot to add, do any of you girls have info on the surrounding area and things to do?? This website is driving me nuts but I want to add as much info as I can for our guests. I'll probably end up repeating it all in our welcome packets, but want to get it out there as soon as I can. Thank you girls!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
