We have always booked with either Expedia or Orbiz as they usually give a great discount for booking hotel and airfare together. If you are in the US, you may be able to negotiate a room rate with Barcelo and hold a block of rooms. It may be easier to get a travel agent to negotiate with them for that. We are going to be booking our next trip for April 2011 and have been watching rates on both Expedia and Orbiz. Orbiz has had the better discount. FYI, if you have an Entertainment book, Expedia has a coupon in there. :)

I need to book asap to confirm my wedding date but don't know if I should go straight to the hotel and book a flight separate or if I should book a package deal

Any help you can give would be great! Thanks girls :-)

I am extremely frustrated because I need to order invitations for my January 7, 2011 wedding ASAP and Barcelo is making it very hard for me to get the necessary information together to get this done.

There are 3 beach locations for receptions. One is called Coral Beach and it is in front of the Palace. There are palm trees there that they wrap in white lights. The 2nd is Palmeras Beach which is in front of the Colonial/Tropical. It is fairly open and it's in between lounge chairs, but good for large groups. The 3rd is Playa Azul which is at the far end of the resort in front of the Barcelo Maya Beach. There is an area covered with a thatched roof right on the beach and they set up your reception under that. I think I might have a few pictures, if you want me to email them to you just pm me your email address.

We chose Playa Azul for our beach reception....can't wait!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
