I just emailed my wedding coordinator, Xhail, about the outside photog and this was her answer to me....

4. What is the policy for an outside photographer???

[Xhail Flores]

Please, Iâ€d like to remind you that the external photographers are not allowed in the hotel.
How ever if the photographer is one of your gests or he is staying in the resort, you will not have a problem.

Barceló Maya Beach Resort has changed its provider for the photo and video solutions. Barceló Maya Beach Resort has an exclusive contract with Kodak & Smile Market. For information and prices please contact:

Hi Girls,

Hate to but in, but I saw you all were trying to find a photographer and being a professional wedding photographer that does indeed travel...I just had the itch to post. haha.

If you were interested in viewing my work and would like to talk with me about your budget and how to get great photos for your wedding day, let me know. We are experienced in traveling and working with various budgets. We are award winning and voted Bride's Choice 2010 and Best of 2009.

Here is my website: www.maria-angela.com

blog: www.mariaangela.com

and you can even search for me on facebook! (Maria Angela Photography).

If I can't help you...then I would at least like to see if maybe I can answer any questions that may help you on choosing the right photographer for your wedding day! You can't redo a wedding due to bad photos...especially when it is a destination wedding!!!

Thanks for that alib0160! I love having you all here to ask questions because it takes forever to get answers... Not to mention so nice to find people on here with great ideas :)

I think I have decided to bring in someone for a DJ too... DJ Mannia sounds like they are really good and have had really great reviews from the girls on here.

So just curious - are you guys going barefoot? sandals? heels? I am toying with the idea now. My girls are going in Espresso brown dresses and I found that Dessy has matching sandals, wondering how good it will look?

:) I love the barefoot jewelery for myself, I think I might have some on hand just in case ;)

I am planning on going barefoot but, have bought a cute pair of sandals to wear to the reception and also wear if the sand is too hot on my feet.

Hi All...I am having a small wedding, no more than 10 people including ourselves. We are booked for the Palace - a 1pm ceremony.

Any Ideas on what to do in the 'in between time' ??? I know there will be time needed for pictures, but that brings me to maybe 3pm.  Maybe I'm just over thinking, Just figured I'd see whate anyone else has done.

Hi Ali! I was thinking about renting chairs from an outside vendor, would you mind sharing your experience with that? (cost, product etc)

Thanks!!

And as for the shoes, I'm thinking I'll have to go wedge heels in case stilettos sink into the sand (I love the foot jewelery but I'm a total shorty and my groom is tall)!! I found some satin wedge heels with a bow detail online that I really love. They are almost like booties because they wrap around the ankle so there is a little extra support in them too - sand plus champagne plus nerves plus my natural clutsiness could equal distaster!

My girls are going to be in silver flat sandals, it turned out they each already had a pair. And just a hint for bridemaid's dresses... check Forever 21. The dresses I ordered from there are adorable and were only $25 a piece! The girls love them and appreciate the low price.

Love this forum girls! Keep the great info coming!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
