I agree! I like what I see so far. I would like to see some pics of a wedding they do at Barcelo, to get a better idea of how they will photograph an entire wedding day.  And, like Michelle said, I would like to hear some reviews from people who have used them.

Just when I thought I had a decision made, I am given another choice!

Let's hope the change is for the better :)

Yes thank god for these forums i wouldn't of had a clue otherwise...

I really hope the new ones are better. The photos on that site are nice but i dont think you get a definate feel from the small amount there of how they'd shot a wedding. I might try and contact them to get some samples... i'll let you know if i have any response.

Fingers x'd girls... x

I checked out the new photogs' site. Definitely better than the old resort photogs, but not super impressive for what they're asking package-wise. I'd definitely recommend Ivan Luckie..he is an amazing photographer and his prices are actually really good for a whole day of shooting. I wanted to go with him, but I originally was going to get married at Azul Beach and they didn't allow photographers other than their "approved" list. So I went with Claudia Rodriguez, who is AMAZING, but her prices are a bit higher than I originally wanted to spend.

I just emailed Claudia to have her for our wedding, but she isnt even available that day. :( Shes a bit more $$ but her work is sooooo beautiful. Im a bit scared to hire one of the other photographers off her site.

OMG i've just had our confirmation through from the TA and they have the wrong ceremony time on it. When i questioned it they said the hotel had confirmed it was right. So i've had to dig out all my emails and find the one from Victoria confirming our wedding day and time and forward on. I really hope they dont change it now!

I've actually heard really good things about her other photographers. Can you see if Erick Rodriguez is available? I know a few brides on here have used him, and had some amazing photos. Try doing a search for his name and you should find some threads on him...

Scary!!!! What time did they have you down for? Is it drastically different than what you wanted?

I have us set for 4 pm ceremony time, and I really hope they don't change it on me.

Barcelo had us down for 3pm and our TA has it down as 4pm. Our TA said that the hotel said 3pm was taken!!!! I'm just hoping they've double booked us in!

We want our evening meal in an al a carte and been told that they will only do groups at 6pm or 9pm so we really need the ceremony at 3. As 9pm is to late for us to eat with little ones with us. If the al a carte let us eat at 7 or 8 id be happy to have the ceremony at 4pm.

Is there anyone who can tell me what is a good time to have a reception for a 4pm mid april wedding ceremony. Is 7pm too late? Also, we want to get a mariachi, when did any of you have them come to the reception. During dinner? during dancing? I really want one cause they look super fun but i want to have time to do all the dances and stuff. Also, last question, what time does jaguars open?

Hi girls, I've had an email from the new photographers which states they dont have pix of recent shots online yet but they did attach a price list and said they can send me a few pix of previous work via email (which i have asked them to do).. so i will let you know what they are like/ show you when i recieve them. Finger's x'd they are good.

 Prices attached for anyone interested....

ashfrylund - we would as like the mariachi band but we will have to wait and see how our finances are nearer the time. I think we would either have them during cockail hour or after the meal. We are hoping for our ceremony at 3pm and our reception meal at 6/6.30pm so i think 4pm then the reception at 7pm is fine. I would have prefered those times but if we have our meal in an al a carte we have to eat either early or late and as we have small children with us the late slot was a no no for us :o(..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
