Holy smokes ladies I am getting so excited!! We leave on FRIDAY for our wedding!!!! I'm feeling the last minute stress, but I am trying to tell myself that everything will come together and will be ok. The wedding coordinator is not getting back to me at all and I'd really just like to confirm that they have a section blocked off for our welcome dinner on Friday night.... oy.... oh well I'm sure it'll be ok. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

Hey, I have a quick question that I think I know the answer to but an not sure...

If you want the option of one of the open air restaurants for the reception that takes the Strawberry level or above right? It is the same as a beach reception.

What is everyone doing for a welcome dinner?

Good luck Cara! We leave next Wednesday!! I finally heard back from Claudia on Friday. She said she could book a welcome dinner for no more than 30 people in an a la carte at either 6pm or 9pm.

She didn't specify what a la cartes were available so I requested the French restaurant at 6pm. We have 32 people and are just going to book for 30 and see what happens when 2 extra show up. huh.gif We'll see when I get there I suppose...

Hope you have a great time and maybe we'll run into you there!

I'm sure we will run into eachother! You get there Wednesday, and our wedding is on Thursday! :) I won't see your wedding though, we are changinr resorts on the 14th.

I really hope Gabriela will get back to me at least about the welcome dinner. I'm sure it won't be a big deal for them to do it even if I tell the resort about it when we get there. We have 50 guests so we're having it in one of the buffets, so they only need to section off an area for us, I'm sure that can't be too hard. :)

Help Ladies,

I just got an email from Claudia, we are trying to book for April 2011, she informed us that we need a copy of a reservation from a tour operator 2 months after our date is on hold. What if we don't book our flights till October? That just doesn't make sense. I don't want to book my flights now when we could get a better deal closer to the date.

Also, in the information she sent me it states "The City Hall will keep the original birth certificates, they won't be returned." I'm not leaving my original birthday certificate in Mexico. Can anyone tell me what happens when we are down there, do we just give all our information to Claudia and she deals with it, or do we just make copies and take them down there? Right now, it looks better for us to just get married here and take our marriage license down there. I'm so confused.....

i'm not sure about the BC part but she needs more then your word for the booking, what i did is i boooked the first 10 people / 250 pp to get the group rate and my TA said she would match any price ONCE, so if it goes down 300 bucks a person she just adjust the price but if it goes down again she wont match it. it's just a one time deal! PLUS... if you book early your guarenteed the room etc b/c it books up quick!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
