I am having Claudia Rodriguez... When she sent me the e-mail saying that Barcello does not allow outside photographers unless you book a night for them I responded by saying that photo is very important to me and I plan to book an outside photographer regardless of the policy and will just book a night for her and her assistant. She agreed to do it after my response.

Good choice FutureMrsG, Claudia's work is some of the best work IMHO.

Girls I'm so excited our family chose this resort as my grandparent's 50th anniversary resort to renew their vows!!!! OMG I'm freaking out because it's so beautiful and I want to bring my camera and take pics for them as a present. I'm so excited to follow this thread and maybe help them plan a little bit more. I know it's going to be small but little details count in a big way, right wink.gif

Thanks Mrs.C2B! The TA said 25 when she got back to me.

She also said that there is an 80% rule?! I haven't heard that for the Barcelo. Anyone know? Do 80% of the guests need to be at the resort where the wedding is booked? Do you pay the day pass for folks at the other Barcelo resorts and do they not count toward the 80%?!

Christa.

Hi all,

Daily2011 - I personally have not read anything about this, I am thinking that it may be something your TA would like so that things run smoother? There is an unofficial website if you haven't had a chance to look at it, it may answer your questions. Go to the wedding section, then FAQs.

Here is the website, very helpful. UNOFFICIAL BARCELO MAYA | Unofficial guide to Beach | Caribe | Tropical | Colonial | Palace

There is definitely a lack of communication in the beginning, I am hoping it gets better because I have so many questions!

Invites finally ordered today, phew. Do you ladies think that 6 months prior is not long enough?

We did the Ipod/CD thing and it was GREAT. We burned CDs of our playlists at home just in case the ipod connection didn't work there, but it was fine.

Yes, $20 USD for up to 4 people one way. About 15 mins...

Hi guys,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it is true that a certain number of your guests need to be staying at one of the barcelo hotels. I was informed of this by Gabriela a while ago. It can be either colonial, beach, or palace. I forgot the exact percentage, but 80% seems about right. I also forgot the cost per outside guest. Since the three different hotels within the resort are of different price points, we figured there would be something affordable for everybody and didn't give the option of staying outside the resort in case we would be over the 80%.

I have a quick question for anyone out there who has used Adrian Guerra for makeup. I heard great reviews of him, but I was wondering if anyone had any reviews for the hairstylist he works with. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
