3. For confirm your wedding you will have two months before the wedding date for send us by e-mail a copy of the Reservation Manifest/Invoice from the Tour Operator (confirmation must include name of Groom & Bride, arrival - departure dates and time, name of Tour Operator Company). Once we obtain this information, the wedding date and time will be considered as CONFIRMED.

There were enough mistakes in the grammar to put it up for debate. I guess you better get booking! I wouldn't worry though. I am sure until they have enough confirmed weddings to bump your on hold, I think you'll be fine. Just send them an email that you are trying to find a reasonable deal.
Oh yeh, yours definately says 2months before wedding date. I wonder why they send out two different terms & conditions..... strange, surely they have one rule. I am gonna try not to worry to much. The dates on hold and if we haven't been able to book by mid April i will email Victoria again and ask her to 'rehold' the date till we confirm flights etc. In the UK flights/deals run up until April 17th so far so it shouldn't be to much longer before May 11 prices are out! Thanks for your help!

Just be careful ladies if you book too early, we booked in July of last year with Signature Vacations and they told us that we had rooms at the hotel, flights lined up and everything. They were just waiting to give us our flight schedule. All we had to do is pay the $150 deposit, and pay in full on March 17th. But this past week they told us they don't have rooms with the Barcelo because they've decided not to renew their contract with the Barcelo. Just like FutureMrsG said, the prices (and usually anything) is subject to change until full payment is made. I know this probably doesn't happen too often, but it was a terrible situation to be in. We had to change our wedding date and everything! You can read my review of Signature Vacations under "Bride Referrals" where it gives a more detailed explanation fo what happened.

Just be careful when booking so early. We wish we waited until the our operators had their flight details, and packages available otherwise they're just making a guess on what it could cost you, and when you'll fly, but once they get their packages for that month your wedding is in, it could COMPLETELY change.

We didnt actually have to do that, as well booked just within two months, but did tell us that. hope that helps!

Hello! I think I will end up doing this- just 're-reserving' if need be, I mean its the same thing to do that, than to cancel and have someone else reserve haha. Thanks everyone!

I just lost a longer more detail comment, but the morale of the message was to keep an eye on the Barcelo website for booking as well. It ended up less expensive than our TA prices and our guests didn't have to pay until they arrived (and didn't have to share their credit card info with travel agent companies) and only had a $5 charge if they had to cancel and did within 24 hours of arrival. I feel bad for travel agents, but it is almost easier and more efficient to book ourselves directly with the hotel...just something to keep in mind.

I had to change my date. sad.gif it's now May 13th, but luckily everything worked out. The resort had a spot available (probably because it's on the 13th.. haha) and our photographer was available too. PHEW!

Random question for past and future brides...did you tip and or are you planning to tip the WC's and if so how much?

On the travel agent we did end up booking with a travel agent and she was able to get us about 30% off of the book rates for the rooms and guests booked their own flights. I think it varies so much depending on time of year, etc. Normally I book everything online, but especially the older folks loved having a ta to call/harass!

Ooo that is horrible. It must be so frustrating. We have our date on hold but i'm not paying anything until our holiday is booked. We'll do a package deal from the UK and then confirm the wedding etc when we know all our rooms and everything are booked and confirmed.....

good luck i'm glad you got your date and photographer sorted in the end!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
