January 2009 Brides Post Here

Recommended Posts

So I leave on Thursday morning and I'm feeling like I'm almost ready. I just re-packed all of my clothes for the trip. We're flying with Sunwing and their baggage restrictions are pretty nuts. We're only allowed to bring 2 bags each and neither can be more than 20lbs. Needles to say I just took all my clothes out of my fancy new suitcase and put it in a duffle bag. I managed to pack another 8lbs!

Here's what's still left to do:

Edit and print Meet the Guests

Print engagement photo of G and I for sand ceremony frame

Buy light colored underwear (x3) for dresses

Get tissue for OOT bags

confirm videotaping, buy tapes

buy and burn cd's for wedding music

pick up and ensure wedding bands

buy more votives

get manicure and pedi- Jan 12 - 8:00

hair trial Jan 13 - 5:30

get gifts for tips

distribute items for wedding party to bring

What am I forgettinghuh.gif??

I've been taking pictures as I go but I think I'm gonna have to post the planning thread when I get back. I might see if I have time but I'm leaving it optional so I don't stress.

In other news, today I'm moving all my stuff to our new condo where Graeme has been living since October! Yay!!!!!smile29.gif

Well, FH and I are in our final week; this time next week we will probably be at some bar/club in Miami celebrating with my closest friend (who we're staying with) before we board the cruise ship (1/1cool.gif!!

Today was my mini wedding shower; few people showed (weather wasn't great, plus it was at least a 2 hour drive for most invited guests) but I still had a great time!

I was able to get my nails and eyebrows done (won't need to do that during the week) before the shower.

We're still packing and doing laundry; trying to create our mega packing list to make sure we don't forget anything (like the rings!).

I still don't know how I want to wear my hair, and I'll probably wing it on the cruise ship, or use their salon.

I still don't know what photos I want the photographer to take, except for ones where "Thank You" and "We're/Just Married" in the sand (for thank you notes and wedding announcements). And, I'm thinking I will probably wing this project too.

Don't know if I feel ready... for the trip it self; not the wedding. It's kinda surreal to know that we leave in a week. hopefully this 'feeling' is only due to the hormones (for once I am happy Aunt Flow is here)... who knows.

Anyway, debating if I should do a planning journal as I don't really have anything to put into it since we're eloping... but, it looks like so much fun!

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday night!

My moving went really lame today. I have been moving stuff to our new place for a while already but I still had all my clothes at my parents house (where I've been living for the past bunch of years). Today I moved 3 laundry baskets of clothes and shoes and a computer desk. They're all actually still in FI's truck outside the condo b/c we decided to have friends over instead of moving.

In more exciting news, tomorrow morning we're getting legally married!!! I really didn't want it to be anything at all official (we're just signing papers with our pastor) but it does feel pretty exciting!

Now I just need to get some sleep!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
