She said she was going to plan on coming but I work with pregnant women and there is no way her docs are going to let her go to Mexico when she is 6months pregnant! How crazy, I still can't wrap my mind around her having twins! She already has two kids and she is 27. I just can't believe it!
It's a bummer she won't be there...but, in my opinion, is one of the best reasons (or excuses lol) for a person not being there! :)

Hey ladies!!

I'm also an January 2009 Bride. 1.16.09 to be exact.

We were planning a Moon Palace wedding in Cancun BUT we have changed it to Aventura Spa Palace!

I'm super excited about it and the on-site WC has already been emailing me!

We have our save the dates out for the AHR and Wedding in Cancun.

Photog Booked--using Elizabeth Medina.

Dress purchased.

Only one BM, GM. So that's easy enough.

AND...so far that's it!

I've started looking at invitiations/announcements. I'm amazed at home expensive they are!

Anyways, I can't wait to chat with you ladies more!!

Just wanted to introduce myself!

Welcome to the thread Erin! Sounds like you're right on track! As far as announcements/invites being expensive, have you considered doing them yourself? I know A TON of brides on here including myself made them on our own and had them printed at Kinko's or somewhere similar. It saved a TON of money! :)

Awesome! I am using Elizabeth Medina too! Invites are expensive... I made my own and they turned out great if you are feeling a little ambitious!
Mine cost me under $1 a piece plus stamps.

What made you change locations?

Mainly we changed locations because the only time we could get married at The Moon Palace was 1:00 on Friday the 16th. I agreed to this originally, but then just couldn't get the dream of a "sunset" wedding out of my head. So, after I found out none of the kids were coming---we swapped to Aventura.

So far planning with them has been great! Everyone is staying at Moon Palace and then taking private transportation to Aventura. We thought it would be a nice way to let everyone see another resort!

Do you have a picture of your invitations?? I have considered doing them myself, just am a medical person---not very crafty! =)

I agree, if someone can't come having twins is the best reason possible. I just want her and her babies to be happy and healthy! I won't be replacing her. I already had 7 bridesmaids, which is a lot in my opinion.

I also wanted to alert everyone of the sale whitehouse and black market is having! I just bought a dress, halter top and bermuda shorts for $150 with shipping. The dress alone was supposed to be $150. Its so dangerous being bored at work!!!!

Sure! I created this link... the pics are at the beginning... then somewhere in the middle is the pic of my RSVP card... and then I created a whole word and it is posted towards the end of the thread that has everything you could possibly need! I am not really crafty either. Actually, my FH helped me out too! It was a fun project together but having another gal would be a plus!

I changed locations too... much happier with my new location!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
