I am a January 2009 bride too. I can't believe how much time has flown, and how quick January seems to be coming! Reading this thread, and seeing how much everyone has gotten done is making me nervous I feel very behind!!! All I have done really is send my invitations, buy my dress, and buy my wedding flip flops!! I look forward to getting to know you all, and hopefully reading your posts will get my butt in gear :)
We have the same wedding date! Yay! I have to drag FI shopping for whatever he is going to wear. He looked online and was like, well I know what we're going to get so we don't really have to rush right out and buy it. lol Oh well. We also still need to go ring shopping. Got to get on that this week.

ps~ Has Dez been on lately? I haven't seen her posting, but I could just be missing them in other threads.

Hi Ladies! Hope you are all well... can you believe that we only have 3 months to go? Only 98 days for me, so weird! Time is going by faster and faster.

I was in Boston for work since last Friday and have stayed away from the internet since Thursday. I did have a confrence call with my WC Saturday morning though, which went really well and we got a lot accomplished!

I picked out meals for the welcome dinner, rehersal dinner and wedding night. Figured out some decorating things and made sure we are both on the same page with budget.

We are having the fire dancers for the welcome dinner, mariachi for wedding music and fireworks at our reception. Pretty excited that it is all coming together. Our BM dresses are late, they were supposed to be in at the end of september, they are backed up so it won't be until thanksgiving! Which is fine, but I really need them by TG so my sis can take hers back to CA to get altered.

Otherwise, not much new here!

And only 94 until we leave!!!

Still so much to do!!!

FI has nothing to wear...and neither does his BM. Hopefully he is ordering it by the end of this week!

We don't have wedding bands, our docs still have to be translated. I have NO details/info from the WC!!! I need to find shoes, a couple more gifts for my MOH, gift for photographer (a friend!), FI has to get gift for his BM, DIY personalized pens, DIY welcome books to complete (need info from WC), music, lingerie, book salon, picture list for photographer, and I'm sure there are a dozen more things that I am forgetting!!

Is anyone else in the same boat I am!??

I am pretty much in the same boat, not one part of the whole thing is complete, it just feels like I have so many loose ends I don't know where to start. We did just order our bands this week, but I am afraid I won't end up liking mine (we ordered online). So...you are not alone!

I don't know how wide spread these are, but Hobby Lobby is having a 50% off sale thru 10/18 on all wedding items. I got unity candle (mom wants something religious since we aren't getting married in a church), flower girl baskets and the most adorable mints - "Mint to Be" on the front, tin shaped like bride and groom, heart shaped mints inside. .99 each.

Another January bride who hasn't checked-in in a while...I hadn't even thought of it in terms of days until reading this thread!!! Yikes! I was consoling myself thinking it was still 3 months and 4 days but now that the days are in the 90s...OMG!!!

Here's where I'm at in terms of my to do list:

-veil

-lingerie for under wedding dress

-matching ties for groomsmen

-need BM/MOH gifts

-welcome letters and week itinerary

-welcome bag assembly (not doing typical "OOT bags" but having personalized travel candles, mints, and playing cards in each room along with local map)

-order all of the above for welcome bags

-play list for DJ

-order fans, sparklers, maracas

-favor tags

-table cards and place cards

-guestbook

-programs

-fing dress and shoes for rehearsal dinner

-write vows

-book hair and makeup trials

All that and I still need to finalize details with my wedding coordinator. Luckily I'm not at all worried about the details when it comes to that because she's really easy to get in touch with and is totally on top of things but the rest of the list feels endless and is really stressing me out. I keep feeling like I'm forgetting a million things to boot! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who put things off for a little while but I still feel like I am especially far behind!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
