Thanks for all your posts ladies! Happy New Year!! Congrats-
I have been worrying about this since we booked our trip! I meant to buy a strapless bathing suit, but didn't. So, I plan on tying mine in way that will work and then untying it if I lay out. I did buy a couple of strapless sundresses so hopefully that helps. I'm bringing self tanner and bronzer just incase I need to touch any areas up. We will be in Mexico for 5 days before the wedding and I tan really fast. So, I'm screwed! lol My FI also burns like crazy so I'm spraying him with spf 50 all over until we are married! Hopefully tan lines are the only thing we need to worry about while we're in our destinations!

Oh my goodness! We leave Wednesday morning, and it's all hitting me - RIGHT now. :

Tomorrow is legal day!!! In addition to that I have to: print welcome packet; PACK; run a million errands; tan; and stay sane!! I'm SO SO SO excited that it's not even funny. :)

Bachelorette party was last night! Pics to come...it was SO much fun!!!

Hair trial was today, and I will try to post pics later tonight. I have a "to do" list for tonight, and I'm just now starting @ 10pm...oopsies. I just made some coffee!

Also, I really had a goal to post a planning thread before we leave because that's one of my favorite aspects of BDW...hopefully (fingers crossed) I can work that in!

Wow.....I really feel like I'm walking around in a fog! Where did all of the time go? Oh, and I'm all for keeping up this thread post-January!!!!

No power outages or floods for me - we lucked out I guess. The majority of the power outages are about 2-3 hrs from me. But the flood zones range from about 15-45 mins away - that's pretty scary. They were paddling canoes down the main streets!!

I've been thinking about starting to pack too - I think I might get a start on it this weekend!! I think that's when its going to get REAL!!!

Nothing can ruin this calm I'm floating around in right now. lol But seriously WTF! Oh, and she's freakin 38... don't people outgrow that stage by 38? :)
OMG...what's wrong with her!!?? Seriously!!

My FSIL was actually nice enough to ask me if she could have braids for the wedding - I told her no first...but then changed my mind & said if that's how she was most comfortable down there then go for it! (that's why they love me so much!! lol)

That's a great idea Kelly!!! I have to add that to my list! This has been a concern of mine since we booked too! All of my bikinis (minus one strapless) are halter - and my dress is wide regular straps. I don't even think the strapless will help since my dress is low cut. I am tanning before we go so hopefully that will help - plus I plan on packing on the sunscreen and undoing the straps when I bake on the beach!! lol

I'm so excited for you Nicole!!! When are you back??

I know what you mean about the planning thread. I think I'm going to start getting mine organized now. I have a busy weekend ahead of me apparently!! Good thing FI is working all day & night on Saturday - it will give me a chance to get a bunch of stuff done!

My biggest task this weekend I think is designing & putting iron-on transfers on shirts/tanks. I'm going to buy the full printable sheets at Michaels. Has anyone had any experience with these?? Will they work on ribbed tanks?? I wasn't planning on doing shirts for everyone - but I think I might do MOB, FOB, MOG, FOG, etc. if I can find super cheaps tees. I'm also looking for a funny type shirt for FI since he has already made it perfectly clear he is NOT wearing a groom shirt! But I have designed one that says "GROOM...Dead man walking" and it has a ball & chain on it!! I think he might wear that one...anyone have other ideas?? I also think I"m going to do the BM with green circle & lightening bolt like on You, Me & Dupree for the best man. I hope he's seen the movie! LOL

Hmm...what else. Oh...I have to finish up my welcome books...still!! I think I'm going to get a quote from a printing & binding place through work. I'm good friends with our senior buyer who deals with all of our suppliers so she going to try & find a place to do them for cheap!! woohoo!! I love connections!! Then I just send them the file & they will come back to me done! That will be a HUGE thing checked off!!

I also want to check out how much it will be to get Bubba Kegs engraved - has anyone done this??

Well...that's enough out of me this morning!! hahaha...

Oh...does anyone know what happened to the rest of our January brides...I was going through this thread from the beginning and there are a lot of girls that don't post anymore. Hmmmm...its the BDW black hole I guess!! hahahaha

Have a great day everyone!!

Kate, have a fantastic day! This thread has been hopping in the last 24 hours!

I've come up with one little snag in my plans for the week. FI and I need to do the legal stuff and of course haven't scheduled it yet. Well, we leave Monday. I have to work every night this week except today and he has to work every day this week. So, there's no time we are both free to get freakin married! The only option would be for him to meet me quickly during his work day, but he's a plumber and there's no telling what he could've gotten into in the morning before he has to meet me or how dirty he'll be. eeewww smile120.gif We aren't making a big deal at all out of the legals, in fact, you girls are the only ones who even know about it, but if he could be clean when we do it, that would be great. So, I'm not sure how we're going to get this done.

Oh, one other thing. I want promises cheesy.gif from all of you that at some point you will do a planning thread, a review and fill out that thread about what we would and wouldn't do again. Those are my favorites and I would especially love to hear from my fellow January brides!

If you don't do them this will be me... crybaby2.gif... and you wouldn't want that, would you?! angel2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
