I am sorry Christen! Boys are annoying sometimes for sure~ he sure doesn't get worked up about much, huhhuh.gif?

Amanda- LOL... I like when you said you needed it to get it done for almost $0. I know the feeling!

I had my first dress fitting, second one next week. We have our marriage liscence, but need to schedule with the judge yet. I delegated the menus, placecards, favors.... I just don't have time. Seriously. I also met with our pastor at home and got info for the ceremony. So now all I have left is:

1. 2nd dress fitting and buy my spanx!

2. Bill's suit needs to get altered and he needs a shirt, shoes, belt. (I found his tie for $13!)

3. Decide on ceremony content (may need to get sand ceremony set)

4. Legal Day?

5. Gifts for the moms... Dads are covered.

6. Embroider OOT bags

7. Thank Yous

8. Hair?

9. Picture must list

10. Ipod playlists

11. WELCOME brochure

12. thank yous

13. organize OOT bag contents

That is it... for now anyways. I am sure it will grow, it always does!

I hear you Christene!!

FI has almost zero interest in the wedding - & sees no urgency in any of it!! The only thing he really took charge of was our documents. But I've left him to do his own thing - he's responsible for his stuff...clothes, sandals, BM's gift. If he doesn't get it all then so be it!! Luckily he has his clothes & he bought his BM a watch last night - just has to get it engraved.

Oh...men! What are we going to do with them!!??

So I suggested when we get home to look. He looked for 5 minutes between watching hockey and checking the hockey pool. He made no decision. I am so frustrated. I said he there is only a month left. He says "well a month and a day". I could scream.

Then I said have we decided on gifts for our guests. He says ya I thought you were paying for your girls and I was paying for my boys (in relation to golf/spa/excursion). I said yeah but not every guest will come and then only some of them get gifts. He says ok well lets pay for an excursion for everyone. I said lovely $1500. He says oh it costs that much? I want to scream.

So right after this he says well we should go to bed. I am still looking on the internet for gift ideas. I turn around and I find him in bed all tucked in. I go in and get in bed. He says goodnight. I dont get guys. He sees no urgency in all this. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Just needed to vent.

Christene I totally feel for you! My FI has no urgency about anything. He needs to get new glasses before we leave (in 19 days!). I've been reminding him for months. He's been wearing these thick black glasses that he has for racing everyday and altho he's a cutie, he looks like a little dork. lol Finally he tries to go and they say he needs a new eye exam first. He called me this morning and says its a month wait for the eye dr and he just won't wear any glasses! He can't freakin see without them and we are not having our pics from our whole honeymoon with him in those ridiculous ones he has! I flipped and wouldn't you know he found a way to get an eye exam TODAY and get his glasses in a week! Ok, I got a little off track there with my rant, but I really do understand where you're coming from! He's just so relaxed, like everything will get done on its own. Drives me nuts.

Oh, and did I mention we still don't have any place to live after we get married? That's apparently not stressful at all. You know what he said to me, Kel- how long does it really take to rent an apartment? An hour? We don't need to worry about it. WHAThuh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gif?? I'm gonna flip out as we don't currently live together and we are going to come home from Mexico and head to separate houses!

Phew, I feel better now! lol Thanks for listening!

I just realized that we fly out 1 month from TODAY! With Christmas coming, I just can't seem to figure out if I should be counting down to Christmas or to the wedding :) I think I'm more worried about getting my Christmas shopping done than the wedding planning right now *LOL*.

I have kind of been taking care of me. I have a hair appointment booked for next week. I'm not worried about getting the nails, etc. done as I work at a hotel with a spa, so I can just sneak in when they have an appointment available. I've had 2 dress fittings and have my final one on December 23rd. I just need to buy the accessories for my hair and book my appointment at the salon in Mexico and get my butt down to do some tanning.

The rest of my to do list includes downloading the ceremony music - it's already been selected, just need to actually get copies of it, make the tags for the favours, and buy FI a wedding gift. FI just needs to get a gift for his BM, but I imagine he might just pay for them to go scuba diving or something. I've left that completely up to him to figure out.

Cheers,

Jen

Guess who just got a Christmas bonus!!! And it could not have come at a better time!!!! I really didn't expect one this year since we are really downsizing - there have been a bunch of lay offs in the last couple of months, plus people being cut back hours (myself included). But it is soooo appreciated (and needed!) I'm going to take some of it & buy FI a watch that he has been talking about for months - it will be his wedding present...and a total surprise! I just hope he doesn't buy it for himself between now & then! I am only going to tell him I got a little bonus...so that he still thinks I don't have the funds for the watch!!

Holy crap.. does anyone else feel like December needs to slow down a bit! I am starting to feel a bit stressed (and of course excited).. its 30 more sleeps today before we leave!!

here is what I still have left to do:

1) Welcome letter is completed just need to take it to Staples to get printed and bounded (its 13 pages.. more like a guide them letter..lol)

2) OOT bags, almost done.. we are putting our logo on one side and a map of the resort (with number/details) on the other side with the guests name.. FI did this and it looks amazing (on his he put EL GROOMO for the name…lol)

3) Wrap Fans with ribbons (need to make a card that can be attached with ribbon letting the guests know to bring them to the chapel on the day of the wedding

4) Starfish poem printed on nice paper and attached for necklaces for the girls

5) FI still needs a shirt

6) Pic must have list (almost done thanks to Amandaâ€s post the other day, she made me realize that I needed the list printed out and not just in my head..lol)

and most importantly I am going for another dress fitting on the Friday bc at was suppose to be the final fitting she screwed up the bra part of my dress. She inserted these cups that completely showed through …I was like… ummmm ya thatâ€s not going to work, your not suppose to see the bra cup. So she sewing in new ones and hopefully it will look better. AND when she was pinning the front she had blood from a pinprick on her finger and now thereâ€s a blood spot on the front (by the strap).. she said she can get it out…

it was such a crappy experience, and I so at a loss for words about the whole thing that I just said to her ok (in a stunned, no emotion kind of way), just fix it and I will come back next week. Ugh, trying to stay positive.

That's so awesome!!! I wish I was getting one and usually would except I was promoted earlier in the year and won't get it until April- with all the other 'higher up's'. Oh well.

I didn't even think about a present for my FI! Dang- one more thing. What is everyone doing? What about parent gifts? We haven't done that yet either. In desperate need of some ideas!

Is anyone going barefoot for the beach ceremony? We originally were going to but now I'm starting to wonder if that will look gross. huh.gif

One thing I can cross off my list is all my Christmas shopping and shipping which is a total relief and surprise bc I'm usually one of the poor souls that has to stand in line for hours at the FedEx/UPS office and pay out the ying yang to overnight it all. Go me!!

Too bad I don't have the vacation time bc I totally needed to take the MONTH of December off. (yah right!) Not only am I crazy busy but I seriously can't focus on anything except the wedding. I have wedding fever big time!!!! (and I'm like a junkie with this forum- any chance I see a computer, I have to check out the new posts!!)

ONE MONTH FROM TODAY I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!! WOAH- time flies when your stressed out and short on cash!

Hang in there ladies! We're almost to the finish line and it will totally be worth it- and will turn out perfect!!!! At least we have each other- you all know way more about our wedding than FI does! Men..

ditto, ditto, and again - DITTO. we have NO PLACE TO LIVE!!! hopefully we can get that accomplished this week or the beginning of next....we both live with our parents now, and we are NOT living with either of them when we get back from cabo....... girl_werewolf.gif

oh my, i guess that's one of the "little" things stressing me out! haha glad to hear we're not alone in that boat. ((i'm also in the "my FI could care less/has no sense of urgency" boat))

updates!:
-got marriage license today! legal day on december 30!!!
-we depart for cabo in exactly 2 weeks!!!!!
-lingerie shower given by my bridesmaids is friday night! pinkie.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
