I'm trying NOT to freak out!

That's what I was told as well. I thought it was a really long time! Guess its normal. Then I decided to order a different dress for myself and she said it would be 5-6 months. I was like my wedding is before that time frame and the girl was like, oh don't worry about it. It'll be here. What? Can't she do math? lol So, I made them call the company and get a date from them when it would be in. Anyway, back to the topic, I think they give themselves a cushion incase something happens, but I would bet it comes in before 4 months. Just my guess...

I think everyone's right. They give themselves a cushion. However, for your own peace of mind, can you have them quote you a date in writing that's within your time frame? I just ordered my BM dresses last weekend and they said 12 weeks. I also told them my wedding date was two weeks earlier than it is, so I would have a cushion! I got that tip from a previous bride :)

Hello

Ok so I am freaking out right now....I just got engaged, and we decided to get married in Jan 31 2009 (very short time to get ready I know), And I do want a simple wedding, so was ok with it.

But really starting to get overwhelmed now. Right now, just trying to get our guest list done, so we can get our invatations made up (I will be making them, I think)

But I am having a hard time getting FH to get his list done (he is working alot ect, but I also dont think he realizes how much work it is - even when I do try to tell him)

I know in the end it will all work out, but seeing what you all have done already I am FREAKING OUT!!

Does anyone else have the problem of thier Fiancee's not understanding everything that needs to be done and it needs to be done now? I know once I get most of it done it will just be - lets wait time..but I am not there now, and I am giving myself a heart attack......

I totally have this problem with my FI. He doesn't realize how much work some things are or how long it takes to accomplish them.. Sometimes I think he thinks its like~poof, everything for your wedding is done. Can you make him a list with a timeline? Or, can you make one for yourself so you only go to him with what needs to be done right now, instead of a bunch of things. Sometimes I think men can only handle one thing at a time. lol

Thank you, that is a good idea - Actually was just going over that with my SIL, who is also my MOH - she has calmed me down alot - helped me realize It will get done...just focus on one thing at a time.
Thank you so much

Hey ladies, this week has been surprisingly productive! We went out and purchased my FI's clothes and we both love them! (don't worry pictures to come!) It is a white dress shirt with detailing down the front and oatmeal coloured linen pants. Both came from Banana Republic and were half price! I love a deal and my man looks wonderful in it! We also got a pair of leather sandles that coordinate with the pants. All he needs is a nice belt and he's set!

We also ordered the BM dresses this week and they should be here in a few weeks if all goes to plan. After JCrew messed up my order twice and I had to return the original dresses, I ended up going with a different company all together. They are long teal flowy halters...again I will post pics as soon as I update my photobucket account. They were also only $50 which is fantastic considering the original ones were $170 and I'm buying the BM dresses, so I ended up saving about $450 with the shipping and taxes!

Two big things that I was stressing over are now checked off the list! What a relief!

Next to do:

- Officially decide on the photog...I am going back and forth on this one...

- Pick out the GMs wardrobe

I also have my girlfriend hosted shower in 2 weeks (which I think will be a naughty theme, which is why the great aunts and grandmothers aren't coming to that one) and my Bachelorette in Montreal in a month. I can't believe how time is flying by! I also have my BD session is booked for Halloween day! I'm starting to get really excited the more I think about how close the day is! Yeah for January brides!

Ooh! I'm so glad I found this thread...It seems there is a thread for every stage of planning!! Seaprincess - I think our respective grooms are wearing the same outfits - you must have great taste... ha ha. I'm a little concerned about the amount of time between our ceremony, which begins at 2 pm (I've repeatedly tried to change this with our WC but to no avail) and our dinner which is scheduled to start at 6pm. I know we need a little time for photos in between, but we're talking, like, 3 1/2 hours. What do you think? I'm actually mainly worried about aprox 4 specific guests who tend to hit the sauce pretty hard being wasted for our dinner. My friends are saying that its not my problem, its the wasted people's problem, but the fact is with parents etc. being there, I just don't want to deal with this. Any ideas of how I can avoid this? I was trying to think of a group activity or something, but people I've run this by say no way. Help!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
