Hey Neen!
That is a good idea, are you going to have a little ceremony in Hawaii? We are honeymooning in Canada so I don't think they would let us do that but it would be so cool... to have that feeling of eloping, even though you didn't.
We are planning on getting married sometime before the wedding... but it is kind of a hassel. I vote for your way!

How come I can't seem to find the raffia fans on the OTC site? I know they go in and out of stock, but I can't even find the listing. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure...I just searched 'fans' and they came up....my suggestion is keep checking back with the site, because when they are in stock, they don't take long to come in the mail - I think it took less than a week to ship to Canada...Good luck!

Adam and I (Melissa) are getting married January 29,2009 at Dreams Tulum. We are very excited.

So far we have 11 people booked and 8 still trying to figure out when they are arriving and leaving.

I ordered my save the date cards and invites this week and can't wait to see the finished products.

I got my dress and my BM dress too, still looking for a flower girl dress for my niece, but have seen quite a few, just need to narrow it down. Still need to decide what my FI is wearing as well as the GM and Ring Bearer.

I have almost everything planned at the hotel, and get more and more excited as the days get closer!
Welcome to the January Club! We are near date twins - along with akitterll and seaprincess who are my date twins!

Welcome Welcome!

In response to the OOT bags: We have now decided not to do them - but to do something a little different.

We are doing 'team wedding wear' tee-shirts - all of our guests will receive teeshirts, and to-go mugs in stainless steel, along with a welcome book and guide.

In lieu of the OOT bags, we are planning on paying for a group excursion for all of our guests - right now I am thinking CATAMARAN! I love that.

Hey Ladies,

I'm getting married January 17th at Dreams Tulum. I just had my first shower this weekend, kinda crazy. I don't like being the center of attention but it was fun. We really need to start getting rid of things in our condo, we're running out of room to put things and I have two more showers in september! We also just ordered our invites last weekend. its nice to finally get that done. We also ordered our bridesmaid dresses a couple of weeks ago. My fiance got his suit in a few weeks ago. All we need to do is get the guys attire figured out and our rings. We also bought every beach bag walmart had for welcome gifts for our guests. They're really cute and only $5. My goal is to spend $10 per bag so we'll see how I stay on budget!

Wow, I wish I could get my FI to get his cute butt in gear, and pick out what he's wearing and what his GM's are wearing, but no such luck yet. LOL He did decide that he wants to wear a white suit of some kind. Where did you get your FIs?

We went to Joeseph A Bank, they were having a sale on summer suits. They're a bit more lightweight that your traditional suit. You should check them out. If they don't have the right size in their store, they'll order it online for no extra charge. Scott's suit was $300 and he can wear it again for work(after the wedding). He actually asked me if he could wear it when he went out of town for a business meeting! I just had to laught:) Men are clueless!

We are doing OOT bags. I bought the bags at Michaels. So far we have sunscreen, aloe, first aid kits, immodium, pepto, motrin, beachy note pads, pens, OFF wipes, pocket size Spanish For Dummies, tissues, puzzle books, glow in the dark bracelets and we will include a welcome letter. (ha, I wrote "so far" like I can fit any more stuff in there! I didn't realize I had so much til I just looked in the closet lol)

Oh and I'm going BM dress shopping tomorrow. I'm excited about that. I'm going with my moh, bm and fmil. Yay!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
