I actually put a line on the RSVP

"Suggest a Song You'd Like to Hear Played at the Festivities" :) I'm hoping people fill it out, even if they RSVP "No" so they'll still sort of be there in a way :)

I soooo totally know what you mean about forgetting about the thigns you ahve. I have a list going so I know wha tI have, but every so often I have to look at it and I'm like "oh, look at that, I forgot I bought that" LOL

Oh, and my dress is strapless too. I'm sicilian and i get DARK in the summer. Some poeple told me I was being neurotic to be wearing a strapless bathing suit all summer, but if I get dark enough, I'll hold my tan lines through January...so I've basically been living in my strapless bathing suit....I'm Very dark and I have NO tanlines...except by my boob and earlier today FI was like "WOW those are bright"! LOL

I'm a January Bride!!

We're getting married on January 20 at the Grand Old House in the Cayman Islands. We're going to be arriving via cruise ship and it's just going to be us (we're eloping - even though everyone knows).

The only items I have done are:

  • Cruise - paid
  • Wedding bands - paid
  • Site deposit - paid

I still need to find silk flowers and a dress for me and pants for FH.

We're seriously considering an AHR later in 2009 (like September), but we haven't decided 100% yet.

Hey Ladies,

I always forget to check in with the brides by month,

So... since my last post, I've got a few more things accomplished...

Wedding shoes - check (I'll take a pic and post later)

Wedding sandals - check (I'll take a pic and post later)

BM dresses! These are amazing and I love them - we found them at 'Le Chateau" here in Canada - and my BM's are stoked that they are wearable again, the pics don't do them justice, because they are a teal near the top of the dress and fade to navy-ish blue on the bottom. So cool!

I also found a great necklace for them to wear with the dress:

The wedding bands are being custom made and we have secured a date for drop off of my e-ring (because they need to keep it for 3-4 weeks, and I need it for a couple of upcoming events). This is the inspiration for my wedding band:

So, the bands will be started in early September and should be completed for late October.

I have also learned of my upcoming wine club (unofficial shower - this weekend) and my official gigantic shower which is being held on the Sunday of Labour Day weekend! YAY! This is all so exciting.

Our booking with our TA closes next Thursday, the 31st and we already have 66 people confirmed... yikes!

We still have a lot to get done, - groomsmen clothes, groom clothes, decide on whether or not we are taking artificial flowers - and if so, order them.... BM gifts, GM gifts etc... geeze louise... will this ever end?

lol... I love it though...

Ciao ladies....

PS... WE ARE DATE TRIPLETS NOW - SEAPRINCESS, AKITTRELL, & AMARILLIS!

Thanks, we were thrilled with we found them, they were really cheap too $150 - and very wearable again... I personally have many BM dresses from past weddings in my closet that are HIDEOUS and cost in excess of $300 each - and I'll never wear them again, I did NOT want that for my girls.

Where are you getting your rings made? (I'm originally from northern Ontario)
Is it a chain store or a local store? I'd like to get our bands made but I'm not sure where to go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
