Hi from "undecided within Mexico" bride!

Congrats! We chose RM since it is easier for our guests. To narrow down the resort we used Trip Advisor and Stray Weddings to see what the wedding would like like. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum!

My fiance and I were stuck on the Riviera Maya for quite awhile and just in the last few days switched ourselves over to Puerto Vallarta! I'm so excited. We visited PV last year, so I was really hoping to do something different for the wedding. But then after further researching the Riviera Maya I decided against it. I think PV is a cooler destination to bring people because the town is bustling and feels so authentic. You can stroll along the cobblestone boardwalk, called the Malecon, and watch the sunset (unlike RM, where you don't see the sun actually hit the ocean). Also, the Sierra Madre mountains and jungle are just so beautiful - everything is really flat in Riviera Maya. I say go with PV! We are on the west coast so luckily it is cheaper and faster to fly down to PV than into Cancun, but seriously I wouldn't let that stop you!

Good luck, and let me know if you need any tips on PV! I'll just say check out Dreams there, it is located on the nicest secluded beach in PV (that's one thing about PV that doesn't quite compare to RM). But Dream's beach really can compare to RM, unlike many others in Puerto Vallarta which are very rocky and a little rough. Since Dreams beach is private there will be less annoying vendors walking there trying to pedal their wares!

Welcome

I am a PV bride and I decided to get marrried in PV over Cancun because Cancun can be a little more expensive. But if money wasn't an object I'd go with Cancun or any where on that side because it is soooo beautiful. Don't get me wrong PV is nice, too. But it doesn't have that blue water. Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
