I have never heard that the beach is unswimmable but did hear that it can be a little rocky, the other girls are right in saying that there are sandbags in the ocean in order to make it safer to swim (there was some damage done to the ocean floor in the hurricane I believe?).
Hope I can help with your questions, let me know!
Louisa

why would sandbags make it safer?

Wow! I'm a noob to this site and am soooo excited to find so much information on this resort! We're getting married at the EDR on July 12th!

I haven't really started planning the wedding so far, but I am really curious as to how good the resort photographer is...there is a website showing some of their pics, but I see that they are mostly "posed" shots, while I prefer the photojournalistic style.

Anyway, if anyone has any resort photographer pics, I'd love to see them!

I think we are going to honeymoon there, like jilly

Jilly: It seems as if you and I have the same taste and are going to have the same wedding experience! Dreams wedding, then off to EDR. The casitas look amazing and everything I read says they are the way to go!

Has anyone gotten any prices for them?

Hi all,

we got married at El Dorado Royale in September. The resort is amazing but we are having huge problems to legalize our marriage. We booked our gold wedding package and paid for all legal documents, judge and blood test. After few weeks we received our wedding certificate translated but without apostille. We decided not to pay extra again so it means we are legally only married in Mexico but we are not married anywhere else. I am very very disapointed. If you are thinking to get married there do not hesitate to contact me.

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to report that we have added a new member to the BDW Team (and hope to add more in the near future!).

Congratulations to Miriam (Murmel).  Miriam has done an amazing job helping Azul Sensatori Brides and will now work on being the Brand Specialist for all of the Karisma Hotels (Azul Sensatori, Azul Beach, Azul Fives, El Droado Maroma, El Dorado Seaside, El Dorado Royal & El Dorado Casitas).

She will pretty much continue doing what she has been doing, which is helping BDW brides!

Welcome to the BDW Team, Miriam!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
