Location, Location... Cabo or Cancun??

I have been to both locations and they are both great. My issue with Cancun is that it is humid there and it is too much of a party / spring break sceen for my family ----there will be kids traveling with us and that is something I needed to keep in mind. Cabo is great since there is night life if you want it and it is also a little more low key. You are close - if you haven't been to either I would recommend taking a trip for 3 days and check whatever one you are leaning towards for your self.

We picked Cabo because we didn't want to be in Cancun for hurricane season and because more of our guests were on the west coast. We had never been to either. It seems Cabo has a ritzier reputation, but we didn't really know this at the time. It means Cabo can be more expensive though.

We've been to both and like both. We really picked Cabo because I fell in love with Dreams in Cabo. I also liked the fact that Cabo gets less rain, because that was something that really scared me about a DW, since we wanted to be outside. Cancun also has more of a party atmosphere, whereas Cabo (at least on the corridor- CSL is another story!!) is a little quieter.

I have never been to either but....and ended up choosing Riviera Maya but if I were from the west coast I would for sure be choosing Cabo or PV. Not that I am not happy about my location but for some reason Cabo was one of my first picks when deciding where to have a DW.

Just the climate alone would have me leaning towards Cabo if flying from the west coast.

We also looked at Cancun and Cabo...wanted the wedding originally to be in Cancun just because we met in cancun and got engaged in cancun but decided to go with Cabo just because we wanted something new and a place we both haven't been 2. Also i think Cabo has unique scenery and I like the whole desert look o and the photographer that I wanted to use is from cabo

I love, love, love Cancun and the Riviera Maya. But, I have not been to Cabo yet, so I cant say how I would feel about that area.

pros for Cancun

1. Cost. Cancun and the RM can be very low cost.

2. Lots to do. Snorkeling, fishing, art, Mayan ruins.

3. The most beautiful color water I have ever seen.

Ultimately, I would say to go with your gut instinct. Even if Cabo costs more, it might be worth it to you. I knew within minutes of my first trip to Mexico with Karen that we would get married there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
