How much $$$ does your FI / DH make?

FI is a concrete pump operator. Most people have never heard of this so I will post a picture. He is basically a crane operator that moves concrete to where ever they need it. The orange boomed truck looks just like his. The cement mixer dump the concrete into Mike's hopper on his truck and then a pump move the concrete through the pipes to where ever it needs to go.

He loves his job because it is fun, always different, and he only has to see his boss maybe once a week in passing, but the hours sux, his boss suxs, and the pay suxs for him (most others make around $30 but he's only been doing it for little over 3 years so he can't make the big bucks and his boss is a cheapskate!) He calls into dispatch every night to find out what time he is supposed to be at work. Sometimes midnight, sometimes 9am, can be anytime and any day. Makes it difficult to plan for meals and time together. And the hours vary every week, sometimes 30 hours sometimes 90, mostly around 45/week. Last year he brought home somewhere around $40k

I think I'm in the minority here! I make more. Then again, I have my master's and have been working for 5 years. He just finished up his Bachelor's and is in his first job. Give it 5 yrs, I'm sure he'll be making more then... the whole women making $0.80 to every $1 a man makes things makes me angry!

My hubby is a Events and Entertainment Coordinator for the casino where we both work. He makes more than I do but he is 4 yrs older and has more work experience than I. I have a degree though and he doesn't so I'm not really sure what the trade off will be. From my experience at our company, experience is more valuable than a degree.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
