Lunas De Fuego?

I did enough research on here to know that Lunas De Fuego are the best fire dancers in Cabo. I am trying really hard to do all of my vendor bookings myself and not hire a WC (thanks to all of the information on this forum cheer2.gif). So far so good...I have booked my own photographer, video, sweet Dreams for cake and Suzanne Morel for hair/make-up.

I am getting really nervous about the fire dancers though. I contacted them on my own and they are telling me my date is reserved (5/16/09) but every time I email them to ask about signing a contract to guarantee my date I never hear back from them!

I remember reading on here from a while ago that Lunas De Fuego can be kind of flaky. Do you guys think I should give in and hire a WC? or do you think they will show? I still need to hire a really fun DJ and hire someone for flowers (if any of you have suggestions please share).

Thanks! smile105.gif

we booked dj ricardo too :) Also I booked Lunas de Fuego on my own, and just had Maye contact them after they had already secured a rate with me directly. I don't think you need a wc, we got one just because on the wedding day itself I didn't want to have to be in charge of anything.

I heard back from DJ Ricardo. He quoted me $225/hour. I guess that's pretty standard. I am going to book him....I think.

Ana, I remember you telling me you were only using Maye for the day of your wedding. Do you mind me asking how much she charging you for the day? I think you told me but I have lost track of numbers during the entire wedding planning process. oops.gif

You are right! She emailed me today. It's $1250 plus 10% tax. It has been pretty easy to book all my vendors on my own so far but I am worried about the day of. I feel like it's going to be so stressful and I am not sure I can handle the extra stress of making sure all my vendors are paid and on time.

I need to decide soon if I am going to use her! smile125.gif

Thanks for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
