Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Welcome mrseddy! How exciting that you've made the decision. I'm very excited about MP and I'm sure it will fulfill all your needs.

On another note:

THANK YOU BDW!!

I was having such negative thoughts about not getting the same "perks" as others, doubting my WC and TA. Everyone here was very supportive and reminded me that those "perks" didn't matter, the MP was a great choice and the wedding was going to be beautiful no matter what. As soon as I started to feel better about things my TA emailed me and said that since we had so many nights booked we were getting the unlimited functions. Yea!!! bunny_4.gif

Such a happy surprise, I'm so excited. Now with that being said, what kinds of private functions is/has any one having/had? I know that we wanted a reception and can now have one but what else do you recommend?

Thanks everyone!

Hi Ladies,

I received a response from my WC about the private function pricing. Not the best news but at least we have an answer.

Question:

Quick question for you about the pricing of the private reception. I know that the pricing is $400 for 10 people so if we have 25 people, do we pay $800+$200 (for the additional 5) or do we have to pay for 30 people, $1200?

Answer:

The price is $1200 for the 3 tables.

Also, some of our guests booked excursions once we were already there, and nobody had any trouble, nothing was full, they all got to do what they wanted.
I absolutely LOVE your cake!!! Did Moon Palace provide that, or did you get from an outside vendorhuh.gif It's gorgeous.

Thanks for posting Camie!

My issue with this is if you have 21 guests vs 29 guests, you end up paying the same price which just doesn't seem fair.

Oh well ...

Betsy, thank you very much for posting pictures of the cake knife! I was concerned about the cake knife and cake stand. Your picture helped me a lot. Also, thanks for the information on the tours, our contract says they are free if you book 3 nights, but then I had an email from the tour guide at Moon palace telling me the swim with the dolphins was buy one for $129 get the other one free, but in my contract it says you get two free per room. So I hope they don't have trouble once they check in. Anyway, thanks for your help.

I have a question about the alcoholic drinks at the reception, is it top shelf? or just wine, I'm freaking out my wedding is in about two weeks, and I just realized Im not sure what the bar drinks are... or if i have to pay extra. I'm having a private reception so was wondering if they set up a little bar or what.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
