This link is what I used to help me post picks. I used photobucket which is pretty easy to upload pictures to a photobucket account. Then used the mountain icon to insert pictures. You need the IMG code.

I hope this is helpful!

Congratulations on your wedding I'm sure it was beautiful. By the way, I thought your "on the other side" comment was hilarious thats excactly how I felt. :)

Marie, I KNOW! It's frustrating to see how much the rates end up varying due to certain months and even from travel agent to travel agent. It made it so hard to pull the trigger on all this because I was constantly wondering if there were better deals out there!!

Hey Sarah... I noticed that you were sitting at a long table. Did the rest of your reception sit at a long tables? Were they an extra cost?

Miami told me that the round tables are the only ones that are "included" - but I've seen a couple brides on here with long tables. I have a beautiful long table design but I need to know if going forward with that design is going to cost me beaucoup when I get to the resort.

Most hotels offer both ... just curious what MP did.

I haven't had any correspondence from anyone out of Miami since Yudelka's departure. Pilar assisted me with getting the big ticket items booked (reception area, cocktail hour, etc) and answered my questions as they came up. She will not be my WC as the date gets closer. So like you, I am "patiently" waiting for my new WC assignment.

I've never actually picked up the phone and called anyone. I wouldn't even know what the phone numbers are. Maybe that's not such a good thing?!?!?

Who are you getting emails from with dates changing? I assume you are referring to the date as to when you will be assigned a WC. If you are getting emails from someone in Miami, I'd recommend sending an email with a couple questions, maybe about pricing or options as to where you can have your reception/wedding dinner and hope that she forwards you on to someone at MP. I think this is the approach most on this forum have taken to get a WC (myself included). Sorry, no easy answer with this one sad.gif
Camie, I had the same experience as you, I had Yudelka and then Pillar was helping me out of Mexico, now that Yudelka is gone the new Miami WC is Michaella and she has been great! Also, since my wedding is in April, now I have an official WC in Mexico, her name is Lily. I am pretty sure next month you will get your official WC in Mexico. Good luck!

Ashrose, I had the same question and just e-mailed my WC in Mexico asking about the long table (how many people fit) and cost because I know other brides have used it, but I am wondering how expensive they will be since for private functions each round table (of ten people) costs $400... will post info when I get it.

I completely agree Marie - we booked early and we paid just under $400/night and that's the lowest priced room that they have. My MIL/FIL just booked and they are paying well under $400/night and they have an oceanside room. I am incredibly upset about this and have been for about 2 weeks - all of my guests that booked early are feeling taken advantage of and complaining to me. I blame this on my travel agent more than I blame it on the economy and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.

How on earth did they confirm an ocean side room? We were able to request it, but there is no guarantee until we check in and see whats available.

I just went through the MP's website and started going through the booking process for our same week and its turning up with about $8 cheaper a night. I'm not going to sweat a total of $56. Because our guest list is so small, it was pointless to try for a contract (which didn't offer any kind of savings anyway). Everyone went their preferred ways which for most of my family was through Costco. I think they got off paying about $3800 for two people/7 nights including airfare from Reno, NV.

Right now expedia is showing $468/night.

I'm not going to stress about it. The damage is done. We're going to have an unforgettable time and it still 1/3 of the price than had we had the same caliber of wedding at home.

**** Just got word that my brother IS going to attend, yea!!!

hey girls,

It's been so long since i been on here but just wanted to let everyone know we got married last week and EVERY thing is sooo much better then you could ever dream....

My WC was Kalena, very hard to get emails from her i had no idea what really was going on till the day we got there,, but she was Great!!!!!! She made me feel like i was her only bride that week, and i know they have a few a day each. But she NEVER made me feel like that. The Hotel was soo nice, the room, the food, the pool. And everyone who works there speaks good english and is so friendly and helpfull. The only thing is i wish i had a song list for the dj. I seen his list that he had emailed me and they were every song you think they would play at a wedding, but he didn't know what to play at first. You have to know the song and artist, if not he can't look it up to play it, but once we started to request some songs he seem to understand what to play. Other then that the dj did a good job. We had a few events for the wedding, welcome dinner(was going to be out side but was very windy last week) she moved it inside for us with no problem, our cocktail party was out side a few days later the wind was a little better, the food for everything was soo good! I had read b4 that someone had said about the Makeup was not a good idea, I Disagree my makeup and all 6 of my girls had theres done too and everyone look like supermodels, I did a trial just in case and loved her. I have a makeup artist that i use all the time for wedding and etc.. and was nerves about it. the salon is topnotch as is everything in this hotel. Good luck with your weddings i'll try to post the pictures if i can figure it out. Also our pictures came out great too.

Lorree

i dont go on her much, feel free to email me with questions

Hi Sarah & Richard,

Congratulations - your photos are stunning. When did you get married?

Thanks so much for the link to posting pics - very helpful . . . now I have to put it to use - lol

I know 'the other side' I miss being a Bride and our destination wedding - it was such a magical vacation and true time with close family and friends. We miss everyone so much - but are already planning a reunion on our 1 year anniversary at MP!!!

It is such a special and love enduring time - carry it with you always!

How are you feeling afterwards? We want to do it all over again!!!

Now we look forward to thanking our guests in a special way and putting together packages and then onto next year's planning - hope to put on a special private dinner with our guests as a thank you! Hoping to work with our WC to put on an amazing evening.

Take Care - Wishing you both all the best!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
