Yes, I have a rate of $192.00 per person /double occupancy. Which means the total room rate is 385.00 per night for both parties. I got this through MP and I found that the rate was lower than the TA including AAA. The direct MP has many advantages than the TA. The only thing that I have to do is pay for my room as a hold for the other 30 rooms until 45 days before the date. Sorry , the rates depends on the time of year. So you may have the best rate for the time of year that you are going.

My wedding date is June 19,2010. That is hurricane season and hot but the rates are lower. I think the fall is also lower. But if you have the winter and spring season, you will pay higher rates/

I am wondering if any other June brides at Moon Palace have discovered that many of the included tours that were promised as part of the Palace Passport are no longer being offered. Apparently, due to the very low occupancy rate at Palace Resorts, they have decided to drop many of the free tours, without letting booked guests know. My guests are being offered the same tours at a chargeable rate which seems really unfair to me. Bait and switch is the name of the game and it is causing a great deal of dissatisfaction since the room rate at Moon Palace is the highest in the whole Cancun area.

if palace resort quotes a rate they will usually honor it for TA's or even lower the rate to us. June is a VERY different season than february and the rates are much lower. also, AAA is not known for having very low rates as some of the brides that used them on this forum can attest to. I have a $385 rate as well for June but the difference is that we can help with air or if you have problems with the resort. when you book directly with the resort alot of times when an issue comes up you have no one as your advocate.

or if your guest has a problem with their travel who are they going to call.

Oh no! I hope that they are still offering the ones that we wanted to take!! We were really looking forward to Chichen Itza! Oh, I know I spelled that wrong! Do you know which ones are dropped?

Yes, Chichen Itza is still available "at the moment", as well as Wet 'n Wild, Tulum/Xpu-Ha and Isla Mjeres. However, Chichen Itza Light & Sound w/Cenotes, Coba, Ek-Balam/Valladolid, Paradise Snorkeling, Tulum Adventure, and the Ultimate Dolphin Experince at Isla Mujeres is not available. They are offering a Swim with the Dolphins at Wet 'n Wild, but that is a substitution and not what they currently advertise on their website. I realize that the Swine Flu scare has reduced the number of tourists to the Cancun area, and causing financial hardship to the resorts, but my complaint is that Palace Resorts is still offering the "Palace Passport" on their website, with no mention that many of these tours will not be offered, at least not in June 2009. This information was given to me directly from the Palace Resorts Vacation Planners office, when I inquired why many of our guests were not allowed to book their tours in advance. However, the tours office indicated that they would book the Chichen Itza Light & Sound w/Cenotes (the one they said isn't available in the included tours anymore) for a price of $87pp. It is frustrating to say the least.

That is really frustrating!!! Most of our guests are staying for such a short time that it probably won't affect us - I know one group that will try to make it to swim with the dolphins - hopefully they're still going to offer that at BOGO 50% off!

I didn't know we could book the free tours in advance - did you just call or email someone?

Just FYI - The free tours really can't be booked in advance, you have to do it when you get there. If you can show them that the "free" things were a part of your package when booking they will most likely honor those or at least make a substitution. The problem in some circumstances is that certain areas may not still be offering the packages to MP so they have to make different arrangements. I know that it sucks but a lot of it is beyond much of the control of those in Cancun. I found that when I was there last month everyone was very good at working with all of my guests to get what they wanted on the trip. We weren't able to take any tours b/c they had been closed (which is not MPs fault) but they did work with us on the other things that we did want. I think it is much easier to deal with them when you are actually there and each specific person speaks to them (rather then trying to book everything for everyone), KWIM.

BTW - for the person that asked a few posts ago (sorry I forget who it is). The Sunrise side is often called the party side vs. Nizuc. The disco is on that side and during the day there are a few more organized things to do at the pool. Nizuc is a bit more laidback. I think either side is beautiful but yes, all the gazebos are on the Nizuc side so if you don't want to have to travel too far to the wedding it may work better.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
