I recall reading somewhere on the palace resorts website that the free wedding option wasn't available to Canadians. We were also thinking of going this route ourselves until I saw that and then nixed the idea and went with the deluxe package instead.

Oh I already asked for the free wedding package and signed my contract.. but I'm assuming I can still chose another package??

Just to clarify, the "FREE PRIVATE FUNCTION/RECEPTION" is different from the "FREE WEDDING PACKAGE". Basically, everyone can choose the FREE WEDDING PACKAGE. To get a FREE COCKTAIL HOUR, you must (GROUP) book at least 10 rooms. To get a FREE PRIVATE RECEPTION, you must (GROUP) book at least 20 rooms. The rooms MUST be booked as a GROUP through the Palace, so if everyone is doing their separate booking, the rooms do not count as a group. I learned this the hard way because I was technically at 20, but one of my guest booked their room on their own. Now I am thinking of booking a 20th room (3 night min.) myself because if I do the math, I will be saving over $800 since each private funtion table (for 10 people) costs $400. Hope that clarifies things.

I am dealing with Yudelka in Miami. Good luck getting assigned to anyone through her. Im getting Married January 23rd and i keep telling her about my budgeting issues and she wont budge on assigning me anyone. She gave me the name of someone whos name escapes me now so i emailed them but no response. Shes very nice yudelka and gets back to you in a short time but she wont give you any added information on anything. Very frustrating.

Yes, I can see how that would be frustrating! I emailed her yesterday with some questions, but I haven't heard back from her yet.
Does anyone know of someone else we can contact to see if maybe we can be assigned to an on-site coordinator?? Thank you!

So I recieved an email from Yudelka today!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed I hope an on-site wedding coordinator gets in touch with me soon!

I cc, Ms. Capilla to please assign an onsite coordinator to your wedding. She will assist you with the wedding details.

 

In order to qualify for the private function promotion you must have a group contract sign. If you do not have a group contract you will not qualify for any promotion. Find a room proposal enclosed. Let me know if you have questions.

In regards to a free private function, you should pressure your TA a bit about getting a group contract. My TA is working with the Miami office as our 10th room books. She has done it in the past as well - apparently working directly with Miami once we have 10 rooms booked through the same company (i.e. Funjet). Maybe it depends on whether your TA has worked with the MP much in the past as mine has or how much they pressure them. My TA is a honeymoon/destination wedding specialist so she has worked with them multiple times. TA has said the main thing was that all 10 rooms are booked through the same provider. Just a heads up - it CAN be done!!!

Hi there, I have 13 rooms booked so far with my TA as a group contract. When I e-mailed Maribel she told me it has to be booked direct with the resort.

 

Does anyone have YUDELKA KOK e-mail address?
