Recommended Posts

Betsy,

Your pics are beautiful!!

I am getting so excited!

I will be sure to tell the man taking blood to change his gloves!

Did you ever figure out why those guys jumped your BIL?

That is scary! What happened?

Anything else I should know about Moon Palace or anything?

Did you eat at Los Caporales? Any good? Fancy?

I think we are staying in the Nizuc area. Is it nice?

Thanks for your help,

Melissa

For favors, we got personalized shot glasses that are big enough to hold tea candles, I got some LED candles for them, so we dont have melted wax in them. We will have them on the table as part of our decoration and then the guests can take them to their room and have fake candles and shot glasses. We're also doing personalized napkins, they're blue and will have each guest's name of them as place cards. This way we can get the basic white set-up from the hotel and add our own napkins. (I need to take pictures of the napkins, we just finished them last night and I will post a planning thread with all the pics.) Everything we're doing have a dual purpose to save on the amount of stuff we have to bring. We're also doing palm fans from the Oriental Trading company for the ceremony with our program attached with ribbon.

Still haven't been assigned a wedding planner, GGRRRRRRR. girl_werewolf.gif

Those napkins sound cool! would love to see them!

SUBJECT: Favors

I really like the favors at this website and the cost is very reasonable. My main concern is the weight of the items for travel as I plan to carry wedding dress etc. So, I'm thinking about going with small candles, and maybe do more with the OOT bags. OOT bags freak me out though seems like a lot is involved in making them and they probably will weigh a lot. Any info on OOT bags is greatly appreciated.

If you like someones, click on it...they are usually links that will take you to the website where they made it...at least, that's how mine works. Then you pick the one you want and the marker you want :) And then in user CP go to edit signature and paste it in there. It's easy.

We are planning to get our OOT bags and contents down with us, my paresnts, and a groomsman who is coming down the day after us. We figure, between the three couples, we should be able to get everything down there.

The bags can be a little overwhelming...just concentrate on one thing at a time

I am lso getting married at Moon palace. Im just getting used to this website and have NO IDEA what im doing. But i am getting married there 1-23-09. AS OOT bags i got these grea bags from exclusivley weddings (dont know how to post a link sorry) they say Thanks for coming to our weekend wedding and it has starfish and shells on them. Im inclusing sunscreen (99 cents at target) disposable cameras, maps and brochures from cancun, shout wipes in case of spills. And i wrote a little poem about each thing and why we included them in the bags. I think these damn bags are so far the coolest thing i thought of. haha

Sounds like we should be OK with the wedding planner. Betsy's post made me feel better about it!!
I was telling Dez... I am doing the free civil ceremony and then we are having dinner in one of the restaurants... maybe Los Caporales.
We may get a free cocktail hour before dinner, so that would be cool.
What are you guys doing?
Happy Planning!!!
I feel much better about the wedding planner thing, I read somewhere that we were supposed to get one at 3 months, so I thought there was something wrong. As it is right now, I have a 7 page Word document that summarizes everything I need from the wedding planner, along with flower, cake and other pictures, so I can wait until 2 weeks no problem.

We're doing the superior wedding package at the Tucan Gazebo (on the Nizuc side) and having a dinner reception on the Lake Terrace (Sunrise). We're thinking the Carribean buffet menu for the dinner.

We went to Los Caporales on our first trip to MP which was like 6 years ago. It is a nice restaurant and it has the "casual elegance" dress code which means no shorts or tshirts. They have good Mexican/Spanish food from what I can remember. As an aside, the Italian restaurant at the Golf Course is probably the best, but not for a group and they always have a wait. If you want a romantic one on one dinner, its great.

We're staying on the Sunrise side, we always stay there, so its a bit of a habit, Sunrise has the spa, Nizuc has more "nice" restaurants, so its about the same. Sunrise gets a lot busier at the pool during the day, not sure about anything else, we usually spend all our time at Sunrise, except dinner excursions to Nizuc.

Excuse the book, just a little excited thinking about food.

Pookie,

You can write a book all you want... the more info, the better!! : ) .

We are all staying on the Nizuc side, but hopefully it won't be hard for us to venture over to the Sunrise side too.

I wish we could hire outside photographers... that Elizabeth Medina's work is amazing! Hopefully the on-site photographer will be good too.

Thanks for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
