One question: If we pick the "free" wedding package, do we have to put any money down to reserve our date (since they require 50% down 14 days after confirmation?) Just curious how much $$ we would need to fork out up front.

Thanks for your help guys! :)

Evelyn

I just filled out my contract for the free package, and I was told to put $300.

Hi girls-

I am so excited we just got our confirmation. We are booked for June 27, 2009 Woohoo! We also booked our photographer too. Tamarra of Tamms photos her pics are awesome and she has done alot of wedding at MP. Has anyone else looked into her?

I asked Elizabeth (Miami) for more specific flower info. As soon as I get anything I will post it for you guys.

Just curious- Has anyone looked into the suites they have at the MP? Any idea on the cost?

Hi SouthCarolina,

Congrats on booking your wedding!! Less than a year to go!!
My wedding is on the 17th June!!
I am looking at booking an outside photographer, can i ask how you have gone about it as I know the Moon Palace are supposed to be strict on outside vendors??
Also were Tamms reasonable? I am looking at Cancun Studios but am unsure how to get them on site!!?

Also gives us time to save for it..people always think you go abroad to get married for it to be cheaper...but thats not really the case if you chose mexico!lol

Ive not been to mp before, but i know a few people who have been. One couple, and the other girl went in a group for a girlie holiday...everyone loved it!

Whats your thoughts on photographer and reception while your there then? I really want an outdoor reception! Just depends how many people go, because it is pretty expensive, so will only do it if enough people go so we can scrap the reception back home for it!

I Just posted a question regarding the photographer. We were all set to use the resorts photographer and upgrade the package but having read some of the other posts, it seems that the majority of brides use an outside photographer. I have spoken to a few photographers who have quoted me quite reasonable prices. The only problem would be getting them on site as the Moon Palace state 'no outside vendors'.
Hopefully some of the other girls can help me with that proble.

As we are having a small wedding 10-15 guests we are'nt having a reception, just a cocktail hour and a meal at one of the restaurants. Just need to decide on which restaurant now.

Have you chosen a dress yet? I just orderd mine, its a Farage dress, never heard of them untill i tried it on. Its got a very spanish look to it. Cant wait to wear it now!!

I was dealing with Carolina Lopez in Miami, and I think after awhile she just got tired of answering questions that were not her problem. I'm now dealing with Maribel Blancarte in Cancun, and she is pretty good with responding to e-mails, although we are having some "lost in translation" issues. I have tried e-mailing her in English and Spanish and still she's NOT getting it!

Well I haven't talked to anyone in Miami--so I guess that's where I need to start! Didn't even know that was an option. I've gotten no direction at all from the Cancun folks.

The way to get around the no vendors policy is to book your photog a room. Tammarra required a room for two days but discounted her package price by $500. It is her and her husband who come. They will take photos of the welcome party and the whole day of the wedding. Her husband comes too and takes photos of the men the whole day while they are getting ready and Tammarra takes pics of the girls. I thought she was very resonable.... and she gives you the printing rights to the photos.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
