Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Hey Tina! Thanks for looking for me!! What document are you looking in? Do you mind sending it to me??

I've been thinking about starting to pack as well. My goal this weekend was to go through everything and put all my extras up for sale and my two extra wedding dresses....but shampooing all the carpets took priority. UGH. THAT was fun.

Liz and Tina - we decided to do the same thing with ours - our wedding is at one, then we will have a cocktail reception from 2 to 3, then the dinner starts at 6pm. We will also probably do a meet up at a bar. I can't believe how close we all are. It seems so long ago that I found the forum!!

PS: I'm beginning to have nightly nightmares about the wedding - I think I need to chill out!!!! Oddly enough, most of them have been about my hair!

HA! You girls crack me up! I have had no nightmares yet! I have been keeping myself too busy, I guess. When I crash at night, I am out. However, when I wake in the morning, my mind is going everywhere!!

Liz and Nina, Did you decide to take decorations for inside just in case? I've given it some thought and keep deciding the same thing. I am not going to worry about it. Unless, it is raining, we think we are going to be outside whether it is super hot or not. Austin has been fricken 100 degrees the last several days..... It can't be any hotter than that!!

Yeah, I think it's because I have a birdcage veil, and I want to wear it a certain way, and I'm not sure how I am going to do my hair. I keep meaning to schedule a hair trial at the salon here, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I guess if the thing I'm most stressed about is my hair, I must be in good shape!

I also have had nightmares about Matt getting really drunk at the reception though and making an utter fool of himself!! That better not happen! LOLOL.

Ehh...I probably will not do any decorations. I've already spent enough money - that's kind of my deciding factor. LOL. All this is adding up to more than I anticipated - probably because of all the cool things I found on the forum!!! I'm hoping to get two wedding dresses sold though and a bunch of stuff, so maybe I will recoup a little.

I kinda feel that way too - like unless it's raining, we'll be outside. It's barely been hot up here in Wisconsin at all though, so people won't be used to it, but we'll be in Mexico and we need to take advantage!!! I just really want to make sure we have the reception ocean front - not in a terrace next to a pool - boo to that!!

We're not taking any extra decorations. I didn't feel like buying any of that stuff or lugging it down there. I hadn't really even thought about getting rained out until now...I just checked the weather.com and unfortunately it looks like thunderstorms are expected next week. Hopefully that is innacurate! The heat won't bother us though, so we'll stay outside for the whole dinner/reception. I imagine it will cool off a little after the sun sets.

Just FYI ~ I checked the weather constantly before leaving. I was so depressed b/c it said thunderstorms every day! It rained once, for 15 minutes the whole time we were there. Whew! Try not to put too much stock into the weather reports. :)

Is anyone here doing "assigned" seats for a private dinner? We are going to have one long table for guests and I'm wondering if I should bother making some sort of seating chart, or just let people figure it out based on the place markers/favors at each seat. For 22 guests, is it really worth worrying about? Doe anyone have a template, or a suggestion of where I could find one? Thanks!

I have seen several brides doing assigned seating and it is very nice looking. We are not. We don't want to have to carry anything else and are trying to keep this very fun, casual, and simple and let people sit where they want.

Nina, my budget was blown months ago because of all the cool stuff on the forum. Everyone on this forum just feeds off of each other and come up with the coolest stuff. Most people that know half of the things I am doing for our guest can't believe it.

BTW, My guys have their shirts now......... Only pants to go!! Before FI left town for 12 days, we went down to our outlet mall south of Austin. The Tommy Bahama outlet there is amazing. We got FI a shirt for Friday's dinner that will go with my dress, my FI a shirt for the wedding, my boy's shirts, and a couple extra...... All for 40% off the marked price whether it was the original price or sale price. I also bought me some lite lounge pants with a matching bra top and sweatshirt. Don't know if I will need the sweatshirt but I get cold at night after being in the sun. I always need one when we go to the Texas coast in the summer.

One more thing off the guy list - I can't believe FI put their stuff off till the last minute!! HA!!

matching sunglasses - check

flip flops - check

shirts - check

pants - need to take my boys shopping. Anyone know of a store that carries white linen pants for tall guyshuh.gif?

I also have to share..... We had our first couple shower last weekend for all our friends that are going to the wedding or would of been there but couldn't for some unusual reason. Here is a link to our photobooth shots. We have the most amazing guest book. People would cut out there favorites and leave them in our book with notes. We supplied double sided tape, pens, scissors etc.

1. Go to http://www.booth66austin.com/

2. Click on the link "Past Events" on the upper right side of the page

3. Find the event title in the list of events and click on it

4. Click on the link to view the booth pics

5. Enter "B1466PIX" for the password to gain access

6. Browse the photos and enjoy!

It was a blast!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
