Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Nope!! I know us too.. the consulate here is only open late on certain days and so finding the time with FI's job is hard. Plus it would have cost us $350 for all the papers and we have spent $300 on some other paperwork they said we needed.

I'm so glad we don't have to do this anymore :)

Ooo Marie, good question! I really wasn't planning on it...but I bet I probably should.

As for the apostilles, I guess it's not too big of a deal for me...we probably spent 15 dollars including postage to get them...but it took a long time to actually figure out what the heck they were!!!

Thanks for the Apostille info. We already did ours but I was so nervous about sending it all in the mail I spent way too much on the postage (certified mail and such).

I was planning on tipping the WC, maybe $50 or so, I would also like to hear what others think about this.

Random question for anyone that has been to MP. I was thinking about getting some wrist coil key card holders for my OOT bags. My FI pointed out that MP might already give something like that when you get your key. Does anyone know?

Thanks

So since we are changing our plans, we wanted to have everyone meet at a bar for cocktails after our mini-rehearsal instead of a rehearsal dinner. We are thinking the rooftop bar on the Grand Moon side...has anyone been there and know if this would be a good spot? I like the looks of it from the pictures, such as this one, but not sure if this would be the best place. Any advice would be appreciated because we want to have a plan ahead of time.

Thanks!

I am working closely with Nancy Ariza who was assigned to me just a few weeks ago, and I asked her the same thing. You can rent a bus for $75 to transport all your guests at once from Ceremony to Reception.

If you don't choose that route, they would have to walk or hail a golf cart individually. This is the reason why i have a 30 minute "walking" time from the cocktail hour to the reception. Nancy suggested you have walking time to make sure everyone is at the reception site at the same time.

hi ladies! it's been over a month since i've logged on here. it's officially march and our wedding is NEXT MONTH! whew!!! time flew by soooo fast!!!

we are almost done with the planning. we are just finalizing the reception and OOT bags and favors. We have been sooo lucky to be assigned to Nancy Ariza as our wedding planner. Maribel was our onsite WC prior to that and she was fantastic. It was sad when we received her farewell e-mail. Nancy has been top-notch!

We decided to get the Mayan Ballet for our reception. we are so excited to have this performance at our wedding!

Nancy also showed us some favors that Moon Palace could provide to eliminate having to bring the favors all the way to Cancun. They have some nice stuff for cheap. You guys should consider it if you dont want the hassle of transporting everything to Cancun.

The only thing we are worried about right now is getting the unlimited functions on our contract. we are so close!!! unfortunatelt we have 2 memsbers of our party that booked with Expedia and Orbitz instead of our group rate. This really hurt our chance of getting the unlimited functions. i will be begging my WC to help us make these count. Right now we have enough room nights paid for the free reception. we want the free cocktail hour too since.

i have been in contacts with teh new priest, Father Benito. he is very responsive to e-mails and has been so pleasant to work with.

wish me luck! i will be posting some pictures of my progress real soon. =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
