Thanks!
For our group in July, outside would have probably worked because we are from Texas and came from hotter than Cancun weather was BUT my group really appreciated the A/C during the reception.

We were originally planning on having both our coctail hour and reception/dance at the Bugabillias terrace due to extra costs to us to move it indoors (our coctail hour was planned outside too and it was all included with the number of roomnights - we couldn't have one outside and one inside without paying for a another event). Due to rain, we were able to move the reception/dance indoors for free so everyone was quite happy. The ballroom we had was off the Nizuk Lobby and overlooked the pools and the ocean. It was great to have the views and the A/C.

We had 15 PPL book off resort and we only have 22 people booked onto the resort so I am MAJORLY freaking out about how we are going to get them onto the resort for the day!

Well....I got a response from my TA and one of her coleagues that speak spanish called the resort yesterday only to find out that they are strict on the 20% policy, and anything over that is strictly up to the wedding coordinator's discretion. I have already told one couple that they won't be able to come to the wedding (they kind of invited themselves anyway), and I have sent out a plea to the best man and hope they can change and stay at MP, otherwise he will not be the best man!

Personally, I thought it was great every night once the sun went down. The ocean breeze is amazing. It was HOT in the sun during the day. It wasn't that bad at all if you were in the shade with the breeze..... BUT, I wouldn't have wanted to have something during the day outside. We live in Austin, Texas where we had almost two months of over 100 degree days with humidity and no breeze. It was a nice break for us in July.

We got there 6 days before the wedding and checked out the site every afternoon starting at five. We were planning to have both the cocktail hour and the reception/dance outside starting at 5. We felt the coctail hour would of been a little hot but by 6 it really started getting more pleasant.

I hope this helps.

Good luck with this. Is there any way you can get some to change their minds? I have heard they are running some specials at Moon Palace for the fall, maybe that will extend to February.

Thanks a ton! That real helps. I was thinking it couldn't be any worse than Alabama in August, that's for sure!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
