The one we signed really just had the wedding time and marriage requirements. Am I missing something? Thanks! Hope everyone is having a great day!!!
I would definitely check on that. If you will look on the Palace Resort website under weddings, it specifiacally lists the free stuff you get. We got a free coctail hour, free reception and 4 nights free. Make sure your travel agent knows how to work contracts. Some only get contracts with total number of rooms times 3 nights. Ours and several other brides TAs wrote us to where it was worded rooms times 3 nights or tiotal number of room nights. The total number of room night clause enabled us to keep our free stuff because we dropped below 20 rooms.

We signed two different things. One reserving the date and putting our wedding deposit down and the other was the actual contract that outlined the details of the free items.

RECOMMENDATION: Get you a good TA that is familiar with destination weddings and contracts. Our TA was a godsend over and over..... and still is working out a last issue for us!

It did end up working out for us and our WC even got our guests one comp room to share and use for the day. They were very strict about them leaving immediately after your last events though. Our events were from 1:30 to 10:00 so they got their money's worth.

During our wedding, MP didn't allow guests to stay only one night. The minimum was two nights.
Thanks for that. It looks like we are only going to have 5 wedding guests staying off site - and i'm pretty sure they are going to be ok booking a room for the night...so we might be ok...as long as everyone does book to stay at mp.

I've heard a few people saying they couldn't get one nights stay booked at mp, but I booked one night stay for my photographer through the mp website...so doesn't seem to be a problem now - thank god!!! cheesy.gif

WAAY too hot in August at 5pm. People were practically dying at mine in the Gazebo @ 5pm in July. We were supposed to have the cocktail hour before our reception but everyone rushed to Nizuc lobby after pictures just to get into the AC. It is your wedding but these people are paying a lot of money to go, don't make them uncomfortable. Honestly, it's nicer in the gazebo if you ask my opinion. We could have had the beach @ 6pm but I was glad we didn't.

In August, 5:00 is still VERY HOT without shade. Our cocktail hour started at 5:00. It cools down quickly starting about 5:30 or so, but at 5:00 it was very warm. Several nights before the wedding, we would go out and test it. We had a lot of shade and the breeze off the ocean so we felt everyone could stand it for an hour.............. We didn't have to worry though..... It was overcast on our wedding day and started raining about 5:15 so the cocktail hour got moved under the gazebo. Earlier in the day, the wedding office called and asked us to move our reception inside (which was what we wanted originally but didn't want to have to pay extra) so our day worked out perfect without the heat.

LOL! Thanks for that advice. I actually emailed this page of the thread to him so he can see... I had a feeling it would be very hot everywhere but especially on the beach. It also looks windy too... I just want everyone to have a good time and not feel uncomfortable. After reading what you all say we are definitely going to have an indoor reception! The outdoor ones look so pretty but if they are running to AC after just the ceremony there is no way they will want to stay outside to eat and dance!

Next step is to find a dress that I will not melt in! lol! if it is that hot then I have to get something really light because there are some dresses that are so big and heavy I sweat just walking to get out of the fitting room!

It is very breezy but that and the shade help make things bearable in the summer months. We are from Texas...... and Cancun was a nice beak for our crew. It has been over 100 degrees here with no breeze for a couple months. But even with that said, if your in the sun with no shade mid afternoon to about 5:30 or so, It is hot.... breeze or no breeze.

I loved my dress...... It was the ONLY dress I found that had some bling but only weighed about 15 lbs vs 50. It was made out of a lite-weight taffeta that didn't wrinkle, held it's shape, washed easily (someone spilled a Sangrita [tomato & other juices] on it right after the wedding and it washed out in the bathroom with no stain), and even looked great after me and the rest of the wedding party jumped in the pool!! I don't even think I broke a sweat in the dress.

Hi TIna

Nibsmom said that you used the hotel photographer for your ceremony, can I ask did you upgrade your package or not. Im presuming from your colours that you had the amber collection (this is the one that I am looking at for my wedding). Was the photographer good and what did you get for your package?

Sorry about all the questions but I dont want to compromise on my photos as our parents wont be coming with us and I want to make sure that they can see great pics when we return.

I have all 755 pics listed in a post on my wedding review thread take a look. Both Tina and I had David Pena and he was great. We had to upgrade the photo package in order to get him.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
