Thanks!
Hey Hunnie!

When I got to the MP, they gave me a little sheet to fill out - here was what they needed...

1 - Bridal Party Entrance - you'll want to make sure this is long enough to cover your peeps getting into the gazebo. If not, they will start it over again from the beginning.

2 - Bridal March - Same deal as the first. They don't start this song until you get out of the carriage and are standing at the head of the walkway - at least that's how mine was.

3 - Signatures - This will want to be your longest song. This definitely takes 4 to 5 minutes. We used the Over the Rainbow song from the 50 First Dates soundtrack. There are multiple copies of the certificate and you, your husband, and each of your witnesses (4) have to sign all of them, then you have to thumbprint all of them.

4 - Kiss - This can be a shorter song. It's for your first kiss and the champagne toast. Mostly this is a pictures time.

5 - Recessional - I think this can also be shorter. I don't even know if we played our whole song - we all walked out, did the petal toss, then peaced out.

I also had a prelude song I asked them to play and they did. I didn't know I was supposed to have the kiss song, so they just played the prelude song again.

I hope this helps a little bit!!!

We used a travel agent to arrange our group contract... We negotiated with her and MP and got even a slightly lower rate than the group contract rate... but the stipulation was, we MUST have 10 rooms or that price is VOID! (not to mention we no longer qualify for the free cocktail hour). Well, the deadline is Sept. 1st to finalize rooms, and we have 9!!!!! I think we have exhausted all of our options of people to invite (our turnout was a lot less than we thought because of the economy). If I don't get this 1 room, they are going to raise the prices back up for everybody and that is not fair to my guests!! The price is roughly $13 less per person per day.... but that adds up when a family of 4 comes for 5 days!! Ahhh I'm so worried now!

Some of the family has already complained how expensive it is... which I justified by telling them how everything would be taken care of once they got there.... but they are going to FREAK if they find out they owe even more than I quoted them! Ahhhh so frustrating!

I know I can't afford to pay the difference for all of our guests..... we have our outside photog. staying 1 night, but I was thinking about possibly paying for 2 more nights to make the three night minimum..... I know for sure he would not be staying there though. He probably has other weddings to shoot that weekend and will be checking out the next morning. With that said, do you think that plan could work?
How is your contract written? Ours was written as number or rooms for three nights or total rooms. We didn't have 20 rooms to get the upgraded event but we had over 60 nights (which would be equivalent - 20 rooms times three) so we qualified. Our basic contract was also similar, we needed 10 rooms for 3 nights each OR 30 room nights to meet our contract.

If your contract isn't written like this, do as Nina (nibsmom) suggested and check with your TA. MP seems to respond a little differently if a TA is dealing with them. Also, we reserved an extra two rooms under family names initially. Since all we had to put down until 60 days out was a deposit, we paid that and held them till later. One room was used and the other was released.

Hey girls! I feel like I haven't been on here forever! We are back in PA and to be honest, I would love to turn right around and go back to MP!!! For those that are getting married there, I am jealous! We had SUCH a fabulous time! I heard nothing but positive comments from the guests that came. We had a small group (15 staying on the resort and 2 that had the day pass) and of that group every single person said that they would come back in a heartbeat. My father (who doesn't travel well) said he wasn't going to fly ever again after the wedding. By the end of the trip he was saying how much he loved the place and he wants to come back!

Girls that had written a review - how did you post it? I was going to post directly on this forum, but didn't want to take up billions of space.

Hey Eureaka! I totally felt the same way. Two weeks plus later and I'm still sad to be back! I've been looking a little bit into what their timeshares are like I'm so smitten!

Welcome back JodiMichelle! You're welcome for the review! Did you see Honey's and Tina's too?? For my honeymoon, we took a taxi ten minutes up the street to the Excellence Riviera Cancun. It was really nice, but after the MP, and adults only honeymooners resort felt stuffy and was hard to adjust to for a day or so. There were also a few things with that resort I was unhappy with. Minor things. I need to write a honeymoon review still. Let me know if you're considering that resort and we can chat more about what I liked and didn't.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
