My wedding is in February too, but I haven't heard much feedback about the wind. The weather I think is a little less hot, I was in Cancun in May on vacation and it was definitely hot...I don't know how the brides that were standing out on the beach could stand it, because there is NO relief from the sun sitting out there!!

Honey740, so you weren't impressed with the firework display. We were actually considering switching packages, I have an old package, my orig wedding date was May 23rd, right up until the swine flu hit & everyone in our wedding party panicked! Anyways, we have moved the date now to February and were thinking of upgrading to one of the newer packages. Now that I've read your comment I'm not so sure it's worth the extra money!

don't do it! Keep the old package! I got the deluxe so we had the massages and everything, so much better value. Yeah, literally the fireworks were 3 shots up in the sky.

Lawieland, We had the old Deluxe package and loved every part of it. It had so many more things in it than the new packages. The only thing it didn't have was the fireworks and we didn't miss them. Of course, our wedding was in July and we ended up having and indoor reception that night. Our group made our own fireworks by jumping in the pool then heading back inside to the lobby bar, dripping wet, for more drinks. HA!!

I didn't expect any color decor with ours nor did we rent or take any decor for the ceremony. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they had wrapped the end chairs on either side of the aisle with orange chair wraps. We didn't take extra decor for any of our events and i was constantly impressed with the little things they did. We did rent some color ($36) for table runners at the reception.

We did not see a wedding firework display so I can't tell you anything about it.

Janina is my Miami WC. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the wedding contract after you confirm the date? Will the wedding contract also contain the group booking contract?
Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Ours took about a week.

Hey Dedicated, MP is a great place to have your wedding! I know three of us just recently got married, well at this point, maybe 4 or 5, and at least three of us have posted recent reviews with pictures!

Here are some pics by the ocean so you can see what it looks like normally!

These are non-pro, non-edited pics. Let me know if you want more!

Also, I think it's always pretty breezy at the MP, year round. That's what I've gathered from all the reviews I've read. The breeze isn't like, hurricane level though. LOL. It's really nice to cut the heat!

CONGRATS!!! I'm so excited for you! I miss the MP so much - can I come to your wedding? LOL. Juuuusssttt Kidding! But really. LOL.

I got my wedding contract almost right away. Within a few days I think. I requested the group booking rates separately, which I also got pretty quickly. I ended up getting a cheaper rate through TammyHost here on the forum, and all the wedding perks, so we went with her instead of through MP though!

Lawieland, I also saw a fireworks display - and it was literally like three shots in the sky. It may have been the same one honey saw, LOL, we got married on the same day. I remember when I saw it also commenting to Matt I was glad we didn't purchase any! I know they have different levels of packages though...let me see if I can figure out how to attach that document!

My WC sent me this because I really wanted sparklers - they don't have them - but these seemed kind of expensive so we decided not to get any!

wow that is really expensive for the fireworks! I wish that the old packages were still available. It is strange how if you want certain colors then it is cheaper, but then I looked and the only difference I could see was the solo music during the ceremony. I wonder if I wanted the green without that if I could get the lower price?

I also wonder if the fireworks you saw were the new package or if the people paid for them through the pyro company. If you all had the old package then why would someone who got married when you got married want the new? I am so excited that they take care of everything though... I want as little stress as possible!

nibsmom I LOVE the pic of your bridal party on the checkerboard... where is that? Your bridesmaid dresses are awesome too where did you get them?

I think it depends when you signed your wedding contract and put in your deposit. We signed ours group contract and wedding contract and put down our deposit as soon as we decided where we would be (in 2008 ) . It was for the same reason you stated, as little stress as possible. We were so glad we did because the old packages gave us so much. The deluxe package we purchased was $2200, worth every penny and more. We ended up paying around $800 - $900 more for upgrades to photo package, IPOD docking station, cake, etc.

I was concerned when I first found out about the new packages that we wouldn't get ours.... Fortunately, deposit and contract held it in place.

We had everything we wanted during every part of our day.
The package was well worth the money and every one of our forty plus guests enjoyed every moment. The only thing I didn't use was the manicure that came with it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
