Agreed, I dunno what I would do if I were working the same day we were leaving! I would go crazy with anxiety! Nibsmom, you said you were staying at a hotel by the airport before you leave though? Is your flight really early the next morning/late that night?

Honey, you have to have your marriage certificate for the symbolic? I guess I just figured they wouldn't care if you were legally married in the US or not, since it's not a legally binding ceremony anyway.

Wonder how Speidi did theirs... ? :)

Yeah, I kind of have to work Monday - mandatory meetings and I've used ALL my vacation days for the year already for the wedding. Our flight Tuesday morning doesn't leave too early, but we'd have to drive in rush hour traffic into Chicago - through construction - to get to the airport. I have no desire to put anyone through that!!

So...okay, now I have another dilemma - what would you do??

I ordered starfish pendants and chains from ebay - a seller with thousands of positive feedback ratings. I get a shipping notification on June 26th - two weeks later, no package. I email him. He says he doesn't know what's wrong, but they should be here this week. I say, I need them by Friday, or they are no good to me. He is just like, keep me informed. I'm like WTF, but whatever. So, today - another week later - almost an entire 3 weeks - I get the package.

First, the chains are wrong. Completely wrong. So, I email him. He emails me back, and says oh yeah, I sent the wrong ones - like he knew what he did!! He says, I'll exchange them, but I suggest these other chains with the pendant you purchased. Those chains are 5 dollars more expensive than the ones I ordered - and he says he'll charge me the difference!!

AND, I just looked at the envelope - the stamp on the front says it was shipped in JULY - no day. I'm so pissed. I have no idea how to respond to this guy.

What I was expecting was "I'll overnight the right chains to you right away!!!" Am I wrong to expect thathuh.gif

Hi! My date is coming up soon as well! August 1st! We leave the 29th and i'm already nervous!

honey740- After i booked MP i refuuused to check trip advisor! I stayed at the majestic last year ( in DR) and it was awesome! but there were bad reviews on trip advisor for that week, which made no sense to me! So i suggest ignoring them! I much rather hear from the brides on this forum, this is a great resource and am so grateful to have found you guys!smile29.gif

Honey - thanks for the advice - I think that's what I'll do.

Also, for you trip advisor peeps - remember that some people just are NEVER satisfied. Compare the number of bad reviews to good ones - there are WAYYYYY more good ones!! And, Tina must be having such a blast, because she's not been on to say she's bored or complain!! Take them with a grain of salt. Some people just like to complain!

I believe today is Tina's wedding day - isn't it?? Happy Wedding Day Tina!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
