Our contract stated number of rooms for 3 nights or number of room nights and we booked through a TA. We originally had it either way with unlimited private events (which I was really hoping for) but with all the recent month issues, we dropped down the next level. We only have 15 rooms but have the total room nights to give us the 1 private function and a few nights free.

When are you getting married? It is not showing up on your sidebar. I have Kelena as a wedding coordinator and Maribel was my temporary one. I received answers within 24 hours from Maribel but Kelena doesn't do good with email. She has called me several times and we always resolve everything quickly. How is your experience with her?

I am planning on fighting them for it, but not sure how that's going to go, since Maribel in Cancun and my Membership contact already told me "no".

I don't want to get all biotchy, but... dangit, I want my free stuff!!!
It is not biotchy at all....... see what you can do. It is worth it if you can get it. When did you sign your contract? We signed ours in 2008.

Being a palace member is a little different. I have some people at the resort that are members and their rooms are not counted toward our total rooms. Fortunately, we don't have any problem getting them into the wedding. We had to get separate approval for guests coming in for the wedding due to the number exceeding 20%.

Hello Ladies,

Wow, 265 pages and 2641 posts later!

I am currently in the process of booking my date (April 22, 2010) We were told by the miami person that the sun set is at 8:30 in april so we went with the 6pm slot.... however after reading this site I think we should go back and ask for the 3pm...

We're still waiting to hear back about our contract (filled the online form out on Thursday)

A couple of questions.

I don't think there are any current Canadians on this forum.... So I'm not sure if anyone can answer... If we go through a travel agent can we still get block rooms? (ie all the rooms next to each other?) We have a small group (24 max... probably closer to 18 and we're all staying for a week.) and this has been brought up as an important request from family.

The other question, Did anyone find themselves running into other wedding parties? (ie if we have the 3pm time slot, will we have to wait for the 2pm time slot to finish?) will our guests be waiting outside the chapel before they can go in?

I've emailed tammara's photos to see if their available, not sure if I'm going to be able to talk my FI into that or not :P

Congrats to all the girls getting married this next week or two... there seems to be a lot!

Happy Canada Day!

Tiffany

Hi! Welcome.

My 2 cents, if I had to do it over again, I would have done my booking directly with Moon Palace and cut out the TA. The only thing the TA does for you is act as a third party. MP give you a link so your guest can book themselves, it's very easy. The rooms are all blocked and you decided which section.

There are at least 3 or 4 chapels, you won't be there waiting for one to finish though, I think they have it down like clockwork so you feel like the only one getting married in the whole resort.

Good luck! Feel free to post more if you have any other questions.

~Sandy

Is anyone else on here booked with a Canadian wholesaler? I have been assured that we have a group contract and that all group contract amenities apply - such as the free functions but I don't have anything in writing showing this - which concerns me a bit....

If there are any previous brides on here that were booked with a Canadian wholesaler that could put me at ease that would be great :)

Thanks so much

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!

Not sure how much this answers your question but we are booked with a Canadian travel agent and the resort has confirmed that all of our rooms will be in the Nizuc section. As for rooms being side by side I know from previous group trips that I have been on that the resort will do its best but its never guaranteed (and sometimes its a blessing to have your room away from the rest of the group).

Hope that helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
