Hey all! My we've been chatty today!!! Awesome!

Honey, welcome and we share the same wedding day! I am getting married at 1pm on the 18th. We are getting really close, super exciting! I am also heading down on the 13th. I have no idea what time I get in though, LOL.

I have become a Sephora addict too - I went and spent almost 500 dollars in one shot buying all my wedding make up. Oops. I had read somewhere that they will NOT use your own make up at the salon - that's why I bought my own. I don't remember where I read that though!!! I have very sensitive skin and I can't have anything with scents or certain ingredients in it or I get nasty blister things. Bad news bears. I would check into that before booking your make up appointment. I did book a hair appointment though. I will be doing a trial with my salon next week.

For our OOT bags, we are just going to meet people as they arrive and give them to them to welcome them and stuff. We have a much smaller group though - like 25 people.

Honey, I am doing a Trash the Dress. We booked Claudia Rodriguez for our TTD, which we are doing during our honeymoon at the Excellence, and we booked an outside photographer for the MP too. We are spending quite a bit on our TTD, but I think it will totally be worth it!!

It's super exciting!! I can't believe how close we are! Maybe we should try to meet up and have a drink or two!

Yay! Just got back from my dress fitting. I'm happy with how things are going so far. I think I'm going to switch up the head piece. My original plan was to have a side comb with some crystals, but tonight I tried on a different one that is more tiara-ish and I surprisingly liked it!

That's interesting! I requested him awhile back and they noted it on my file. Guess I should confirm with them that I still will be having him. I think this will be one of those e-mails where I have to go back and hunt for the original and forward it as a "remember when"...

One more quick question - What is everyone's thoughts on the tours? I'm usually a "hang out at the resort" type of person, but I'm thinking I should take advantage of the included tours. I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions from past or future MP brides.

Thanks!

I actually meant what if you spend a lot of $ on the dress??

We should totally meet up for drinks, the rooftop bar @ the grand looks really nice, as does the beach bar. We don't have guests coming till Wed and most Thursday so it's nice to have the alone time.

We are switching to the Royal Cancun on 7/21 to get a different experience. We wanted to spend some time on the strip and I splurged for the swim up room- basically a semi private pool, 3 or 4 rooms share, can't remember.

I always look at this webcam when it's raining here (and we've had a lot lately) or I am @ work getting anxious. The Royal in Cancun Webcam, The Royal Cancun Live Video | Real Resorts it calms me down and makes me happy :-)

Eureaka, we are planning on going to Chichen Itza - it looks awesome! That will probably be the only tour we take, as it's a whole day long. I saw a question about tours being canceled...I had looked on this website a week or so ago and it had mentioned certain tours being canceled...

Receive a Palace Passport valued at more than $500.00

Now it doesn't say anything. I'm assuming they are being offered again?

Honey, I bought a second dress to use for my TTD - it was around $400. My ceremony dress was definitely more expensive. I had also got a TTD on ebay for 40 bucks, but decided I didn't like it so I bought the next one.

I think after all the $ we'll be spending, we'll have to do the free tours! We'll be there a while so we will prob do one or two. The ruins might be too hot. I think the isla mujeres one is good, you can either go to the palace there or pay to snorkel, rent a golf cart and there's a turtle farm close by as well.

Some gals do wear their dresses - I've considered it! I just wimped out. LOL. My maracas just came in the mail. I'm unhappy with them, so I think I may take it on myself as a project to repaint them all....gulp.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
